Did the Holeshot AIS removal kit, RR carb mod, but slightly different. Went with 130 mains (I live at about 400'), shimmed the needles just a hair less at .157" including the plastic spacer, 3 1/8 turns on the A/F screws, and instead of cutting the hole in the top of the airbox snorkel, I drilled out the rivets and removed the top piece entirely. At first after getting it all back together I was really disappointed for a couple reasons. One of the overflows was leaking gas so I figured I screwed up one of the new float needle seats I installed. I threw in new pilot jets, mid jets, and holders for the mains as well. The bike idled rough and would bog if I goosed the throttle wide open, so I figured it was way to rich and maybe needed the carbs synced. Decided I would have to yank the carbs, fix the seat, and go down to 127.5 mains. Went to a couple shops in town. No one had them in so I had to order them. Figured I'd pick up some new spark plugs and throw them in to see how easy it was with the AIS out of the way. The old plugs didn't look at all bad but the bike fired up and idled great with the new ones. By now the errant float needle must have found it's home because the over flow is no longer dripping and the fuel pump only clicks once when the ignition is turned on. So I took it for a rip. Sooooo sweet! Maybe still a little rich, mostly off small throttle openings, but still a huge improvement!

If it starts puking fuel again, you may want to look into the float needle seat O rings. They are known to crack/rot from the ethanol in gasoline.

Today I sanded the bellypan, and radiator covers, so I could repaint them. Yesterday, I oiled the chain, cleaned the rear wheel, and synchronized the carburetors.

Yeah, I put in new seats and O-rings when I had it apart. I kept the old needles though as I had just put them in this spring when I cleaned the carbs. I think one of the old needles just needed a minute to seat properly in the new seat.....I hope. Seems ok for now.

I painted my new to me belly pan this weekend, waiting for a few days to sand and buff. Used Colorite aerosol, pretty happy with the results. Color match is very good.
Hey Slim, is yours the factory chin cowl? If so could you post photo of how this thing mounts up? I've got all the pieces but tossed them in a box a while back when I bought it and mixed a few other parts in with them

Major mechanical work: Removed tatty-looking Yosh RS-1 badge from side of muffler. Used new rivets to fill holes. Polished entire slip-on with billet polish.

That's all I had time for after washing my do-rag, my favorite Big Dog shirt, and trimming my faux-handlebar-moustache-chinbeard.

Me too. I went in late yesterday and the commute was unusually brutal. One lane change into me, one incident of every vehicle around me *skidding* to a halt for no particular reason (a frightening sound,) and passed one down motorcyclist, in obvious pain, getting looked at by police and fire.

Different crowd at 9 AM than at 6. Executives with cell phones. Or maybe there's noone to call at 6 AM.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It was 103 degrees F today in beautiful downtown Dayton. Too hot to mess with a bike.

Not today, but yesterday, did a 350ish mile ride. Lots of log trucks, old folks, and pace cars to stare at the rear bumpers of. Did find a little set of turns in the middle of it marked at 25mph that I got to hit twice with no one in front of me.
