My wife is sending me on a little holiday next week .... my reward, for when I finish the taxes. Clifty Falls is about 2 hours from my home, down on the Ohio River.
She went 1st class with my room .... here are some photos, and a blurb about the room.
Gotta love a woman who sends her man on a good photo op !

Love the star trails Ed. I keep wanting to try that but never get around to it.

How good is the S95? I gave my old Canon P&S to my gf after I got my DSLR. I could borrow it back, but it's starting to have problems with the lens mechanism. She is heading to France for a vacation and I wouldn't mind having a good P&S for things like the Gap Rally, etc. But $400 is pretty pricey.

That's not much less than my XSi!

The S95 is awesome.

I don't think about it simply in terms of photo quality - you can as you say nearly buy a DSLR instead for the money.

It's the size. Nice and small and out of the way, yet takes pretty good photos.

The size is the main thing for me. I don't want to pull over for a nice photo op on the Blue Ridge Pkway and have to drag a DSLR out of my bag.

That's a great shot Michael.

I'm going to assume that dipps just doesn't want the unwashed masses to start buying the gear he loves so much

Replaced the wifes cam with the S95, pretty nice but I don't get to use it often : (

But if you want to borrow the SD1000 for stuff, let me know, its just sitting on my desk upstairs collecting dust. The batteries are in bad shape, don't hold a charge all that well, but in a pinch it would work

As nice as the S95 is i don't find myself shooting with it in manual mode like I though I would. I just leave it in program mode and shoot away like tard.

The flash placement gets me everytime, i always have my finger over it when it calls for flash and pushes my finger, sure this is a perfect way to destoy the flash pop motor

Yeah, that shot is wicked cool. I leave relatively close to the airport too. I should try this some time.
