Eh, you would be much better off with a couple of Elinchroms. Much better light and much more reliable output.

Some of Alien Bee's stuff is okay if you want cheap.

Had to drive 2 hours to the UPS distribution center (It's not going to stop snowing anytime soon... we're expecting another 20" by Thursday...) but... I got my 24-105 today..... nothing like that fresh "L" Smell.... first impressions... this thing is awesome.

i think you have me mistaken with va_rider. i don't mind flash. i USED to not like it, but i've been learning flash photography more and more as of late. thanks for the link though.

I have the 24-105 lens...it rarely leaves my camera. The only drawback (sometimes) is that it is only f/4. I wish it were f/2.8 but I guess with that focal range, it would add a lot of expense.

VA, you get the best dam lenses the first time of anyone. I read that the newer 24-105's are consistently good, as opposed to the earlier ones. That one looks great.
One thing I noticed when I had one, the IS is friggin awesome, just as good if not better than the latest iteration on the 70-200 4. Never had any lens with more effective IS.

I don't have any filters that live on any lenses... I have a CPL on the way from B&H... that should have been here 2 weeks ago that may be used on it occasionally...

I've thought about the 24-105 many-a-time. It covers a very useful focal-range, and I've never heard of any negatives.
