Yep, 135. Actually needed a tripod at the grave, I was shivering too much to be steady. It was like single digit windchill friggin HERE. This global warming is killing me, going down to 16 tonight. Records are getting shattered.

My sister got me some under armor football receiving gloves for shooting in the winter! Man those things are awesome, there super thin and have grip on the fingers. Keeps my fingers from freezing when its super cold.

That magnesium body sure gets coooold!

It took a good 30 mins for my fingers to stop throbbing , especially in the area right under the nail. I'll have to try those, it just never gets this friggin cold here.

I had the 50 and planned on using it, but my hands and ears wouldn't stand it.

How do people LIVE in that? Not just now, but throughout history, when there weren't heaters. Amazing.

I was up there once! The lady at Hertz told me as I was leaving "don't forget to plug in your car", huh? That's when I learned a very useful conversion -40 Celsius = -40 Fahrenheit. You know its cold when you have to plug your car in at night, special antifreeze, and anti gel fuel.

And I was only there in the end of November!!

(BTW Ryan ----- in answer to your prior question, I've owned this lens for almost 2 years now)

Taken tonight during a 'scolding'.

While at CES, I took the liberty of stopping by the Canon booth (with my 50D and 16-35L lens of course). I talked to a rep, got to play with the new 70-200mm L lens . They took my card and hinted that I may be contacted to get copy to demo.

I think I've got the Dipps disease. I'm on to plan C.

17-40 for landscapes and such
70-200 for reaching out on wildlife

Something in between?
Something for low light? I've got a hoot owl I want to get some pics of.

Just gotta share: I got the 50mm f/1.8 II, but now the wife's buggered off with the camera to the Scout Jamboree in Sydney for 17 days! There's nothing worse than getting a new toy and not being able to play with it.

Hopefully she has taken some good shots.

I managed a few pic's with the new lens, nothing spectacular. I'm still struggling to find enough time on a day off to actually experiment with the manual settings.

Don't be too critical, I know they're not the sharpest, that's what I'm going to work on when I get my camera back (and some time!).

P.S. I'm still lovin' this thread, and the humour is great.

Hammer, that 'scolding' pic is going to go down in history as an all-time classic! You must caption it for 'lolcats'.
