I got my eliminator this weekend and though I've not had a chance to install it yet I wanted to say thanks again.

When Dave's demo circuit didn't test to his standards I would not have felt slighted in the least if he had sent me a message and said "sorry dude, your SOL." Instead he made a new one and sent it to me free of charge.

Gen 1 Shortened Windscreen

Gen 1 shortened and painted black windscreen. Could use some touch up on the rattle can paint. First dibbs gets it. Just cover shipping.

2001 FZ1 Engine - Northern Illinois - Free for the hauling - PICKED UP 7-6-12

I am converting a 2001 FZ1 to electric power. I would like to give away the engine to someone who is willing to pick it up in the Joliet, IL area. The bike had 39,000 miles on it when I pulled engine. I am not willing to ship.

Don

Engine was picked up 7-6-12. It is going to replace an engine with a bad rod in Oklahoma.

hmmmm

This is the very definition of looking a gift horse in the mouth, but at over four hours driving distance, could you give me some more info please? Was the engine in good running order when it was pulled? Any damage to side cases? Shifting problems etc? Thanks so much.

I rode the FZ1 for five minutes, around the north side of Chicago, before agreeing to purchase it. It seemed to be running rich. The previous owner was proud of the fact that one of the local shops had just worked on it including adding a K&N filter that was dripping with oil.
It shifted well. No damage to the side cases. No carbs - they have already gone to Texas.....

This is an interesting project, YamaDon - are you documenting it somewhere?

Not yet. We are taking photos as we go and will someday post them on the elmoto.net site. Lots of nice projects and information there.

My long-distance bike will remain a 2004 FZ1 "Skunk".

Used brake lines and pads from an 02

I updated to Galfer lines (front and rear). My 02 has 6,800 miles on it so the lines are in good shape as the bike is covered at work and garaged at home.

Email me at: edward.goetz.3@us.af.mil

After market handle bars and grips

Time to give back a little

FOR GEN 1

I have an after market silver handle bar and OEM grips. The bars are almost identical to the originals except they have no threads for the handle bar ends, other than that they fit well and are about half an inch wider overall. Pay shipping and they are all yours.

No dents, bents, etc. Just some regular scratches from putting on and removing, but barely noticeable.
