Thanks for posting this. Looks like it belongs there too.
Tell me, how does it sound? I found a few sound b's but the quality was too poor to tell anything. thanks. |

Thank God Yamaha doesn't offer the European 'naked' version here in the States. I could be reeeeal tempted to Ivanize/Yosh' a naked '08......
That silver Ivanized faired version with it's Yosh' system in place looks like it was meant 'to be'. I'm unedumacated in the likes of 'power' with regard to the new bikes. What can that 150 hp/80 torque be likened to in the world of (modified or unmodified) bikes of similar expense/weight???

Rider,
That means it will run right with a well set up R-1 until the aero dynamics of fairing drag take over, some where around 150 mph or so. Very likely pull most R-1s in roll ons in most any gear, again until aero dynamics take over. Fast as all hell everywhere at any time. Yamaha is probably afraid to put this together RIGHT from the factory. Hurt their R-1 sales too much. Ivan, You have really put together one hell of a package here. You know I like to do most stuff like this on my own. I don't toss out accolades on performance issues very often. But I have to say, I take my hat off to you on this one. Lots of hard work and much tinkering and tweaking. The stocker was a bit of a sled. I've driven 06Bills with everything but this new pipe and it is amazing what you have done with it. To anyone that has an 06-07 Gen II and you don't latch on to this set up, you are flat missing the boat. It will transform your bike.

Fits very NICE, looks great proportionally, nice finish for any current color (i think) and add's power too.
That additional power is right where my bud's Gen 1 makes advances against my gen 2... before my bike anniahlates it... hmmmmm |

Ivan, is it a 4-1 or a 4-2-1 design? I can't tell from the pics. Either way, I know what I'm saying up my $$ for...

Also couldn't help but notice that it retains the center stand. 'Tis a good thing.

I am creating a backorder list... so anyone who wants to be on it, please call during the week and get with Gina.
She will take your name and #, and will get back to you with pricing when it's available to us. When it's available, I will do a group buy on it. Thanks, Ivan

Ivan good thing it retains the center stand. But would you know if it will work with the full fairing versions?

There is no reason why it wouldn't.... it follows nearly the exact same routing as stock.
It won't come near the fairing. Ivan

Interesting. Looking at the charts, the real advantage of the full systems vs. slip ons, to me anyway, seems to be between 5,000 and 7,500 rpm. That alone is worth the price of admission, because typically in the canyons when sporting around I am running 5,500 to 8,500 rpm. This is the range that a 1,000cc sport bike should shove ahead with effortless power compared to smaller machines. For my street based sub 150 mph desires, I prefer the modded FZ's power curve to an R1.
The Akra full system also seems to be holding up pretty well in a tough comparison. As an Akra owner, I can't help but be pleased.

Yes it is the Yamaha lower cowl.
The thing that I like better about this system over the Akra is that you don't have to mess with the centerstand and it costs a lot less, and is much more attractive due to the smaller muffler. Also, the bike will instantly yank the front wheel off the ground at 4500-5000 rpm. Although the price is still speculative at this point, it should still fall in line with the rest of their stuff. Ivan - did they happen to change their mind with regard to making it universal fit to most slip ons?

So this system is going to cost much less then the Akra full system you sell? My biggest complaint about this bike stock is the drop between 5000-7000 rpm as shows up on the dyno quite clear. Also could we buy the Yosh header and put a Scorpion slipon on it if we wanted? How about a sound clip? |

The system is sold as a complete system only.
They haven't done it for any other bike in the past.... (it's probably their policy - I wouldn't expect them to change it for just one bike) Ivan

The sound is fairly loud with a nasty high pitched rip at high rpms.
The pipe comes with a DB killer which is easily installed or removed with 1 bolt. The muffler used is their 14" variety... they make 16" and 12 or 13" as well. Anything other than what comes as standard would be considered a "special order". Ivan
