06 No Risers

Look Ma, no risers

A work in progress. I am in hopes this will help with body position at the track. We'll see

Oh yeah, need to shorten up the fork stop travel a bit. Makes for a pain when moving around in garage. Also note the holes in the dash. I know this might seem extreme to some but I want to see how the fz handles at the track with clip-ons..

Barry,
Looks great and if the S handles the same way as the N then it'll be a weapon on the track.
I run an N with Gilles Tooling clip-ons and rearsets and it handles really well, and turns in much better than std bar set-up. Extra weight over the front also seems to help with headshake issues at speed.
I had to fit a different master cylinder as the std one would not clear the fork - your bars are longer than mine I think.
Easiest way to tidy up the bolt holes is to go to your local bolt shop and show them the hole. I think from memory you need a flat stainless washer with 29mm OD and a round head allen bolt 10X50.
Have fun.

Magnets, steel magnets, out of an old tank bag, I thought that was going to be the most difficult thing to change but it turned out to be the easiest.

Again, If I could fit, I would have bought an R-1. But then what would I do with my spare time?

The $1,000+ a year in additional insurance premiums kept me away from the R1. Now I really like the relaxed ergos of the FZ1. Still hate the looks of the risers, however
