You don't need the PC3 until you mod the airbox.

Hi all
1st post here. Now that winters arrived here in Alaska I've parked the bike and started the mods. So far , Mivv Suono, cut down flies, Lars mod, AIS blockoff and BMC filter. Heres the problem, I shop online, and no one was selling PC3s anymore, they have all been replaced by PC5's. Is anyone out there making a MAP for the PC5 system that i could use? Thanks.

i sell the PC3 and the 5.... you can't use an ignition module with the 5.
My map is included when purchased from us. Ivan

The Duke-Tyrmeltr Hybrid map is the best out of the ones I've tried. I highly recommend giving it a try. -mike

Hi, I just finished to mod my bike as a stage III and next Wednesday I'm going to do a dyno tuning session, than I will post my custom map
But for now I wanna use a map for do some tests in these days, can I use the stage III Whittlebeast map contained in Dukes pack even if I did not have the FCE ? Are the maps in the pack good for the use with the baffler in the exhaust?

Check out Duken4evr's map pack under his signature. You'll find what you need there. It's pretty self explanatory.

my tuner uses a dynojet dynamometer 250i, actually it looks like low but the results are very close to other fz1 I see here, probably it depends also by the correction factor (EEC) used. The bike is about less than 130 hp stock so a gain of 10 hp is believable. Running the bike the the difference is very noticeable especially the torque ( about 8kgm@4000rpm)

Right...but the figures I believe I've seen more regularly, is that stock is closer to 135, and the usual Mods bring it to about 150. A 15 HP peak increase for muffler/cat-gut/airbox/filter/PCIII ALSO seems in the ball park.

Here in Italy the stock bike tested by tuners and magazines is between 127 and 130hp rear wheel power, I don't know why, I think the bike is the same, perhaps depends by atmospheric values, or fuel or more restrictive correction factors, other customized fz1 gen II I see here getting close to 150hp only with full airbox mod, full exaust and ignition module

Further, I believe the full exhaust gives better mid-range power, not peak power, compared to an equivalent slip-on. Alexd

I don't know if the full exhaust give extra top end hp, but the ignition module can do this according with ivan's charts and also with the RevXtend tool of powercommander (can do the same with rapidbike)

(they don't) So, the I.M. has no effect on PEAK HP. It's wonderful for low to mid-range gain though. Many of us...me included (12,500)...have extended our RPM limiter. However, the Power/RPM curve is pretty flat up there, and beginning to fall. I'm not sure what point you're trying to make? I said your tested numbers seem low... Alexd

Try the "Perfection Map" in the Duke folder.

Using Phone To Push Maps to PCIII
Hey guys, I've searched around a bit and haven't found much on this. Figures DynoJet doesn't want to provide an app as it would hurt sales on their LCD unit thingy. Wouldn't it be ideal for long rides to be able to load all the various maps into one's phone and be able to push whichever one best suits the moment right on the side of the road? Developers can make these phones do pretty much whatever they want. If one can play console video games on the phone, surely a simple program like the PC software could be done, right?
There must be some phone gurus in our midst that have some insight regarding whether this is possible, impossible, or already being done. If so, please enlighten me/us. Thanks, Dan |
