Nice list. I have a lot of the stuff on there. I purchased that hand chain saw and plan to try it out on a camping trip.

Don't see any Mylar thermal blankets on your list. 10 for $7.75, shelter, heat retention, rain catch, etc.

EDIT: also, check out the Coleman Hooligan tent. Only one pole to set up.

Given it's utilitarian uses and relatively small weight, this would make for a good addition to a BOB:

now why would any fool trade silver when lead works far better.
i gots bullets that will take out your motor. and kill deer for food. even some ammo for trade.
one box of .22 cb short for the deer,
one box of 30.30 for a night with the girl.

up here in the hills, any city folk gets to walk back out. as i get there fuel, and what ever they can not carry out with them....like any guns and ammo, knives, etc.
unless the guy is stout..he can give the mule a break.
no need to bug out here. but if need to, i can go were you can not.
but maybe i can bring you along to shovel the snow.

my retreat is at the end of a 20 mile long very rough dirt trail. even in the best of days you need a very well prepped 4X4 to get there.
and the back yard is a loong drop. no roads, no trail.
front yard i can see you coming as well as hear you miles away.
even trying to hike cross country is very tough.

And then some unprepared guy shoots you and takes it from you.
Then he eats you and fathers many children from your wife and daughter. And that is the good part.

Good list with one exception, weight. Imagine a tree fell on your car or the roads are clogged with panicking masses (very likely). Now you have to walk...

Do you really need a saw and a hatchet? Do you really need all those knives? With all the wood cutting tools, would a wood burning stove spare you the alcohol stove and especially the fuel? A stainless steel bottle replaces the the naglene and the cup since you can both boil in, and drink out of it. Some ponchos have eyelets to double as tarps.
And on and on...

The best thing one can probably do, is have the core essentials in no more than a backpack. A second "car" bag could be filled with heavy, bulky luxury items.

Thank goodness for the post after this one. I thought your head might've 'sploded.

Something along the lines of combining these:

Ah, so you've read "The Road" too.

The movie wasn't half bad either.

That was one of the most gripping books I have ever read. I read his other books too and McCarthy is a great, great writer.
The movie was about as good an adaptation as you can ask for too.

But yeah, if you prepare yourself so well and others don't, then it would be silly to think that they won't take your stuff. Survival is a strong instinct.
You may have lots of guns but there is always someone with more.

You don't want to be sipping martinis and grilling steaks when desperate starving people are around. Safety is in numbers, to survive people will need to form societies and share scarce resources and defense. The individual will be overwhelmed. Yes we will go commie!
