I'm sure there's probably some Gen I Vmaxes that can give some FZs a good run..................Just as I know there are some FZs that can give some R1s a good run.............Mainly depending on the mods, riders, and distance.

The only reason I wrapped the throttle was because I was riding in the left portion of my lane and the jerk decided he wanted to pass me in my lane and to my left! I easily could have reached out and touched him. I was pissed and lucky for me I happened to be almost right at the RPM for V-boost to hit when I nailed it. I banged through a couple of gears then rolled off. He only went by after I let off.
I ran into the jerk the very next day on my RC51. He passed me but this time in his own lane. He waved and I flipped him the bird. I'm sure he was confused LOL.

Well good for you then.........I had Harley riders do the same and I hate it aswell.

...........But it doesn't sound like it was an actual race as much as it does you just speeding off and him maybe rolling on it afterwards.....

When someone says they are scared of their bike, at least you know they are aware of the danger involved.

As far as the race goes it's always fun to race another fast bike. Riders can make more difference than any mod in most situations. Sometimes the best mod is a better rider! LOL! Either way you killed the R1.
I rode a bandit for a while also... Then a duc monster and now the fiz

I was talking to the kid I work with this morning... He has been riding that bike for 4 years. Must be he's just a tard. If I had a track anywhere near me I'd be there trust me

Yeah probably, but the fool had been riding my arse for a while on the HOV lane, then squeezing up next close to me at times. So when traffic opened up and pulled his little stunt, for which he was already accelerating, I hit it. I fully expected to have him come screaming by and was surprised to see him pass only after I let off.

The VMax is actually my girlfriend's bike. I almost didn't want to tell her that I held off an FZ1 as I didn't want her getting any ideas that her bike was faster than mine

Ok so after four years of riding he should not be scared of his bike anymore. He needs to be on a 250 nighthawk....

Wow. Just a matter of time for that kid. If the R1 doesn't kill him, his brother will when he chucks that thing down the road. Darwin at work again.

I rode my trackday on Saturday the whole day in 3rd gear. Guys flew away from me going out of the turns. I got up near 120 a couple of times, but mostly stayed around 90-100 on the straights. Bogged down to 35-40mph in the tight corners. Wasn't even trying to go fast in a straight line, because, like, anyone can do that.

+2 on go to the track. Don't feel bad when you get it handed to you.

Anecdotal accounts of races mean little. Rider ability, willingness to push it harder than the other guy, throttle position, when brakes are touched, shifts, rider size, etc. all factor into the "kills" that some of you guys like to boast about.

If YOU were to ride your Fiz hard through a course and then ride liter supersport through the same course, riding just as hard, you'd see the difference between a liter standard like the Fiz and a liter supersport like the R1, CBR, ZX-10R, GSX-R1k, etc. If the mighty Fiz truly is the slayer of said supersports, why aren't there any running in World SBK?

For the record, I ride a 2008 R1 and have been humbled on the track and the street by bikes such as the Fiz, GSX-R750 and some well ridden R6s. Admittedly, I don't ride as aggressively as a lot of you guys, and I'm fine with that.

Keep the "kill stories" coming, that are fun to read.

I wouldn't............but only because I'd wipe out at the first turn on either..........

I'd like to run a course on a 600 though............

Sine the can of worms is open: I have a 2001 FZ1 with many mods, I can't tell you everything because they were done by the original owner and I am the third owner, but I know it has a full Muzzy exhaust with all emissions junk removed and a matching jet kit, oh and I weigh 270lbs. My friend has a bone stock 2007 R1 and weighs 180lbs. When we ride together it is pretty cool, our bikes seem to have the exact same gearing and thus the same RPM's, so they are in tune and our exhausts harmonize, which is something that I don't get when I ride with the cruisers... Anyhow, we have raced many times up to nearly a mile and the results are: I get a hole shot and lead by a few lengths until I wheelie and have to shift, then he pulls ahead one length at most, for some reason his bike doesn't seem to power wheelie... while mine is unavoidable at WOT. Anywho after I settle back in I stay one length behind him until he shuts her down. I am usually so close to him that I don't want to draft and move out into the wind, but I can't overtake. He has a self imposed (indicated) limit of 140MPH, so that is as fast as he goes. Since I weigh considerably more than him, if we switched bikes he should clearly win on my bike, but we never have done.

And since I am probably going to be flamed anyway for my R1 insolence I might as well add: I have stock gearing and I can shift at red line into 6th and the bike is still pulling. I have not ran it till red line in 6th, because of the seeming eternity at WOT, but my tach was moving... I don't care what the speedo says, I don't even look at it, but the maths are that this bike goes faster than a lot of people say it should.
And there is always people like me that enjoy the entertainment. Thanks for sharing!
