R6 forks (non-USD) for Gen 1

Another sporty front-end conversion for the Gen 1, but more subtle than the R1

what about just swapping the 2003-05 R6 fork internals into the gen 1 FZ1 fork?

If they can be fitted, it would give you the length of the FZ1 fork with the damping of the R6 fork.

That option is another possibility. The internal damping rod length would be problematic but not insurmountable I suspect. Another project for the future......

The shorter legs are (for me) a deliberate choice. I fitted these in place of R1 forks, which are the same length. I prefer how the bike handles with the lowered front end. The standard setup feels like a big supermoto and IMO sits way too tall at the front to inspire confidence.

I too have lowered the front end (raised the forks in the triple clamps) and raised the rear on FZ1 (Ohlins shock set up a bit longer).

So this makes the bike turn quicker. If I shortened the forks another 1" it would be too steep.

I have resprung my stock forks and I am running 7.5 wt oil and it seems to be doing pretty good. Its not perfect but its pretty good.

Im looking at doing this mod.

I already have the r6 shock with dogbones that raise it an inch. Might have to swap dogbones with someone.

Havent sourced the parts yet though, ill get serious about it after i do my first track day with stock forks this sunday.

Contemplating dropping the front end before then. Either that or put that new battlax03 i have sitting there waiting.

Decisions, decisions.
