So...I just ordered tires yesterday. Should I kill you now or later?

Try them out first. I have a set of podiums on my faster Motard, didn't even know what they were when purchased the bike from the Previous owner.

Tire guy at the track said they were POS. Guess what? They aren't. Every bit as sticky as the $300 tires he sold me last time.

Holy crap. Damn, I wish they had that deal on the 011's or 009's which are a sport-touring tire. Those 010's probably wont last too long, but for $130 shipped, it is probably still worth it...

hmmmm... I dont even need tires but it may be worth it just to bag these and put them on a shelf for a year.....

I was waiting for Shinko people to chime in....be it pro-Shinko or anti-Shinko.

It's down.........they must have realized their mistake.

The next closest price that I found was $60 more.

Mine tires will be here tomorrow.

They are obviously sold out...the page that even listed Shinko as an available brand has been changed too.

Well, I'm PRO Shinko. Been running the 009s for quite a while and have absolutely NO complaints. The one on the rear of my FJR has over 12k on it and still in fair shape. Only have the front on my FZ1, but when the dunlop wears out, it will get a Shinko on the rear. For my riding ability, 009s are the best bang for the buck!

I understand that this is an old thread, but I just ordered through the link in the first post and the order went through with free shipping with the coupon code.

I hope I get it in a week as it says...

+1

I went with the Shinko 009 (Raven's, I think they are called) front and rear. I've got about 8,000 miles on the rear and 5,000 on the front and still have deep tread remaining. I'm not an aggressive rider by any means, so the sport-tourers work perfect for me. And, they are CHEAP!

The comment from the guy at the tire shop (On Any Moto here in Tucson, awesome place) was that the Shinko's are running essentially the same rubber technology that was used in the racing circuits maybe 10 years ago. Not the latest and greatest, but works fine for my needs.

Close. The Yokohama motorcycle tire plant was destroyed by an earthquake and Yokohama decided to get out of the motorcycle tire business.

All the assets, rights, designs and machinery was bought up by Shinko and moved to Korea, where the production facilities are today, but the design and engineering staff stayed in Japan and do their work from there.
