Man, that sucks. I feel your pain. A former neighbor's pit bull got one of our cats and shook it until its leg broke. We had the dog declared a menace and they had to have it put down. AND they were fined $500 AND had to pay our vet bills. I really wanted to hurt those bastards. It still pisses me off.

Good luck with your kitty and finding a new job!

Still don't own a camera - I know lame - but the little monster is on her way back. She's bruised and puffy all under her fur from getting chomped. She's really sore, but still manages to fight me when I have to pop her pills down the hatch.

Sorry about getting all emotional there, but the event coupled with a bunch of booze turned me into a real softie.

I'm normally look more like this ...

Don't miss the job at all. My wife has a good job, we've got a few acorns squirrelled away, so all is OK. I'll take a few weeks off, take care of my ever expanding honey-do list, and go get a normal job.

The cat getting crunched was the last straw kind of thing. A bunch of things there just hadn't been going my way, so no regrets.

Thanks again all for the kind words.

Later,
Sally

Smile From Olive to BooBoo

Hey Murph/Wimpy/Sally-
I was telling my one-eyed wonder cat, Olive, about your BooBoo Kitty. She sends her best.

Olive was a tiny little, three-day old cat when she was brought to the shelter. A little girl had seen her, with her eyeball literally popped out, but still attached, and her ear partially burned. She begged her mom to bring her to the vet, but mom figured little kitty was about to die, so what was the use.

After three days, with little kitty still hanging on, and the little girl still begging mom to bring her in, they finally brought her to the shelter. The folks at the shelter immediately dubbed her "Popeye" due to her, well, popped eye. Once they realised she was a girl kitty, they changed the name to "Olive" for Popeye's gal, Olive Oyl. After a few surgeries, an nasty upper respitory infection, lots of TLC and even hand feeding and holistic, herbal kitty remedies, she recovered, and Laura and I were able to take her home. She ROCKS! And...she sends BooBOo good vibes, and says things are gonna be cool!

This one is for all you hard core, old timers ...

Everyone who knows me thinks I'm tough as nails. There is some truth to that. To this day, people fear me in local bars. Not the biggest, not the strongest, not the youngest, but too damn dumb to fear much of anything.

And, worse, too damn dumb to fear God as I truly should.

A real Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde when I get going.

Anyway, Nancy Boy here was crying like a baby today bringing the same kitten in this thread - now an old lady - to the vet for some last minute procedures.

She's 14 years old. I've never gone down without a fight. I hope she doesn't either.

Losing a pet is like losing a human member of the family. Hope she has a few more years left in her! Good luck!

Hoping for the best for you and kitteh Murph.

I fear watching you eat salty fries at Alice's the day after hitting somebody's hand with your face.

Lunatic, i hope the kitty is going to be okay.

How is the spiked, blue haired lady, doing?

Hope you are doing okay, Murph.

Dean

P.S. Running down to Morro Bay with your "dad", starting tomorrow. Mini Gather with the lads.

Hope the kitty pulls thru. It's tough losing a fur kid. I lost Samson, my Siamese, a few years back. he was 16 years old. He died in my lap on the way to the vet. I bawled like a baby, and still tear up when I think of him.

Wishing you the best of luck, Murph. My Fathead is long gone and missed everyday; he too was a fighter. I'm sure BooBoo Lady still has fight left in her.

LOL. Now that's the laugh I needed.

Yeah, she's gone.

We loved that cat more than anything. Thank you all for the kind words. Man, those furry little critters get right into your heart. I have to thank God for all the great years we had with her.

Peace All.

Pets get deep into our hearts, because they are just plain adoreable, and their love is so simple and pure.

Sorry for your loss Murph.

Bless you all for the kind words. My poor wife is still a mess. She was crying just now. 14 years of our 25 year marriage with that loving pet was a good junk of time.

We never had kids. Hell, after a couple of years of seeing me in action, who can blame her? LOL

BUT, I learned something from this mess ...

I cannot imagine what it is like for a parent to lose a real child. Must be the worst thing on Earth.
