The article said it only affected 1 bike. That still sucks, that's 20% of their sold inventory.

40% would mean 2.5 bikes returned... I wonder what happened to the other half a bike :-)

Speaking of electric plug in things, just bought Mrs. Duke a clean used 35K mile '16 Ford C-Max Energi plug in hybrid in quartz red paint for an OTD price with tax and all, of 13.8K. I feel like we stole that car, it is the leathered out "SEL" model with lots of goodies. Cool little car and it fits the bill for her, as she drives locally a lot and the 20-25 mile electric range should suffice most days. Of course being a plug in, it has a gas engine and operates in hybrid mode once the plug in charge is depleted. I bet we go a month before it needs gas as her trips are usually short. I like that the gas engine is not subjected to cold short trip running too, which should enhance it's life.

The thing I did not expect is the clearly Euro influenced car is sharp handling/braking, and fun to drive. The EV motor, with 118HP and wads of electric torque, fills in the low end and the 2 liter gas engine sings smoothly on top. The car moves out in a very un Prius like way if you prod it, displaying actual torque steer when hammered hard, which led me to call it "Mad Max". Of course the car chastises you in the form of yellow acceleration coach displays and rapidly dropping "E-Leaves" when treated in such a non planet saving way.

Oh well, call me a barbarian, I like hauling ass sometimes, I am not gonna lie. Mrs. Duke is horrified by all this of bad behavior course, as she drives it gently and with loving care, fascinated by achieving 100 miles per gallon. On the other hand, I figure if I can hammer it below 40 MPG, I am really getting somewhere, that and every gas engine needs and Italian Tune Up once in awhile. It is my job.
