No the rotor issue isn’t an issue with the gen1. Just gen2 r1 and fz8. And yes. 2015 was the only year that came with the good part from
Yamaha.

And what ever helps you sleep at night. I had mine apart. I know how little grease was in it from the factory.

I prefer to be preventive, looks like the op is the same.

Op sees a lot of rain and wet weather, so it would be wise for them to do it.

My bike never sees rain or outdoor storage. No reason to fix what ain't broke.

Now when my stator/generator exploded and sent shards of metal throughout the motor, I took the engine out, took off the oil pan and valve cover to flush out all the little magnetic shards I could see, and flush the motor with oil to ensure nothing was left behind. I'll put effort where it's needed. Front end on my bike is still as smooth as day 1. Maybe around 100k I'll do it lol.

Do you not wash your bike?

Rain water isn’t the issue if that’s what you think. It’s hose water.

Nevertheless. That’s not the real issue, The lack of oem grease is.

No need to beat the rotor drum on this thread as that doesn’t apply to the ops bike. Everyone already knows about that issue.
