Looks like a worthy sport touring replacment! Would rather buy this over a multistrada.

Me, too! But I'm not a tall guy so the ADV bikes can feel awkward. And they're heavier, too. I always wanted the FZ1 to be about 50lbs lighter, and that's about where the SS falls. But now I'm heavier so I've screwed that up!

Good Aussie video of a red one with the Akrapovic soundtrack (nice!). Good to hear the opinion of the typical rider.

Thanks. Yep, I've known about it for a while now. Plan to drive over to the dealer once it cools off some more. I've heard it's a 15 minute fix to reroute the overfill hose.

In the meantime, I haven't posted any pics since I did some new mods.

Sorbothane Vibration Damping Film 40 Duro, 0.125 x 6 x 12 inches - 20x70mm sections--two per mirror--to dampen mirror vibration

And it has a new rear tire. I recently got a bad screw in the stock Pirelli. Changed out for Michelin Road 5.

Still have the stock exhaust.

Thinking about Termignoni, because they're working on fuel maps for the Supersport.

With their UpMap app and T800 device that simply plugs into the underseat cable, you can change the mapping from your smartphone! Whoa!

Just for shites and grins - mod whore that I am and money no object, I would have a composite frame made for my Gen 1 specifically to cut 20-25 lbs from the bike while stiffening it at the same time.

We can always dream...

Just curious on the mirror anti vibration.

Is it a film that applies to the glass? Or is it a pad you place between the fairing and mirror stem?

No way!

Termignoni just released a T800 UpMap (f/the Supersport) that enables you to flash the ECU via bluetooth! So I plan to put a Termignoni exhaust on it and the T800, then flash with their Termi map to match the exhaust. That's so much easier than installing a fuel controller or sending the ECU away for a reflash!

https://www.up-map.it/en/t800/

Visordown just did a lap around Donington with their Supersport.

It's a 3 or 4mm sheet of vibration damping material. I cut about a 20mm x 70mm rectangle and wedge it between the edge of the mirror and the mirror housing.

American company makes it: It's called Sorbothane.

Ducati recently issued a mirror recall and have (supposedly) designed a solution. So I'll get the new and improved versions soon.

Ducati has been really good about fixing any issues.

My 1198S mirrors vibrated so much that they were essentially useless.

It's everybody's complaint about the Supersport, too.

I completed a Ducati recent survey, ranking each element of the bike. Very high ratings in every category 8, 9, 10. Mirrors were the outlier at a 2.

But, really, after adding the Sorbothane, I never think about them. Solved the problem. That's probably why it's sold out on Amazon. I spread the word on the SS board.

I actually read scholarly journal articles on material performance, and this stuff performed better than all other traditional vibration damping materials.

Interesting information on their website, if you're curious (Sorbothane).
