Anyone know if Ivan calibrates speedometer when he does a flash?
I was out tonight and my speedo read 110 km/hr but my GPS was reading 100 km/hr.

He didn't do mine, not sure if he can, but I'd recommend a speedo healer anyway, that way if you decide to try a 55 instead of a 50 tire you can adjust it quickly and easily.

I'm going to pick my bike up on Friday so I can ask him. He called me last night to say it was done - 12k service, new Pilot Powers, and ECU flash/PCV map install. Going to be a good summer!

(And yes, I am lucky enough to live close enough that I use Ivan for my service needs.)

You are indeed fortunate to be that close.

Thanks for offering to check. Let us know.

If not I guess I will be buying a speedo healer.

Yup...but last time I called him it cost me $20 Canadian to talk for less than 5 minutes.
And I am cheap...lol

Spoke to Ivan when I picked up my bike. He confirmed that the signals for the speed sensor do go through the ECU and therefore could be adjusted in ECU programming. However, he does not do that as it would be a static adjustment, and recommended a speedo healer, since that would allow you to do a specific adjustment for different sizes and brands of tires (two tires from different brands, even if they are both a nominal 190/50, will have a different roll-outs).

On the bigger question about getting an ECU tune and an Ivan's fuel map, my only response is, "Oh damn, why didn't I do this much much sooner???" The off-idle throttle response is approximately 1 million times better, the throttle response is both quicker and very significantly smoother at all RPM (especially noticeable in 1st and 2nd above 5500 rpm). The bike even runs about 4-6 degrees cooler, I assume because of a slightly richer mixture. And this is with AIS block, but stock can with cat and no airbox mod.

100% the best investment I have made in my FZ1 - better even than SW-Motech racks and Givi V35 bags! Just the difference in off-idle throttle response would make it worth the money.
