Some day, you come out here, we'll go out in the middle of no where, (which is here, exactly) and drink beer and watch for UFOs, mister. I'll make a believer out of you yet.

What time do they show up?

Seriously, the numerical scale of things means there's almost certainly more out there. The problem is, the dimensional scale of things - including time - means it's unlikely any ever make contact.

On the bright side - Tony probably knows by now...

I have never seen a spacecraft from another world. But as Andy said, even at the speed of light, the universe is far too large to make travel to anywhere else feasible.

If we have been visited by beings from other planets, it has been with the use of energy of a far higher order than we have yet even imagined.

Agreed. We live in a solar system surrounding one star of billions of billions of stars in a galaxy, which is one of billions of billions of galaxies.

In relative terms, the moon, the only object that naturally orbits earth, is oh so close it's almost in our backyard at 225k miles away.

Sometimes I think about how we are all on this little rock with atmosphere and water and trees and technology, that is so awesome but such a small part of something much larger, and it hardly even seems real.

The "hows" and the "whys" I've stopped asking, but I remain completely bewildered. The fact that I'm so small and even have the capacity to be bewildered bewilders me.

As technology advances so has NASA. New discoveries happen monthly, life in other places will not be warm blooded motorcycle loving people.... advanced my arse, methane eating losers I say.

Bourdain is blasting Iggy Pop and playing air (space) guitar while hitching a ride to destinations unknown

Using the new headphones ? Might be the orange kool-aid.

That music should have a disclaimer, sorry. Initial pitch manipulation and phase shifting make that track so dark, fascination and curiosity eventually gets you 2/3 in where the cadence may stop your heart. That whole group and the contrasting anti conforming monochrome shadow tunage genre explains a lot about Mr. Bourdain's thoughts.
There's more, the S/O and daughters tend to linger and discuss when we lose lifes influential ones. Personal experiences have them changing things, start discussion and be blunt should you have concerns about someone.

The girl says learn this, we play it Saturday. Prevention tie in event I assume.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZrOlgK5yfM

Long time fan of Bourdain here. As was my wife since long before Parts Unknown.

I don't even try to wrap my head around why. We just passed the anniversary of one of two suicides in my family last year. That doesn't including my wife's death. She died of acute heart surgery.

It's a very painful way to lose someone, suicide.

In any case Bourdain was awesome and I am not at all surprised at all of the great stuff being said about him. He was one of a kind.

How could you tell the elephant is female?

I think you're referring to a different video than the one I was talking about. See the one in the post I quoted? It's of a weird moving psychedelic picture of a guy carrying an elephant on his back. Or something like that. Not sure.
