I certainly hope not!

One has to understand, that Murph/Damascus views life, a bit different than the rest of us. By that i mean, he's nuts! lol!

The pipes can be made prettier but my comment was based more on the changes that appear to make an upswept pipe ala the Custom impossible. Shock placement etc.

+1 on the gold forks looking crappy and not sure I like the other front end changes but can understand why they did them.

Expected a different tank and seat but was hoping they'd stop there. Can't say I'm surprised though. The realist in me said all along they'd make compromises so that the North American market would buy it -- old men that want comfortable naked bikes that don't burn their legs

Maybe it's a fake photo. That's my only hope other than Obi Wan.

Curious for the release and specs but given how many things would need to be changed to make it more like the Custom may be cured of irrational urge to get one sooner rather than later.

Can go back to unrealistic interest in the KTM Scalpel ;)

Rode past a group of 3 guys on 3 2018 SDs coming the other direction just now. They looked like they were having a blast. Also, it sounds like the 2018 SDs are pretty well sorted out based on poking around KTM forums. My interest is back up for the SD.

It's too bad you're not closer as our Dealer sold an '18 1290 SD for $13,200 the other day, so right around $15 OTD. I almost went that way, but reminded myself I was getting rid of the FZ10 because I can't be trusted with that much powah.

It looks a lot better in that video than the original photo. I want to see and ride one before I comment further I guess. Probably won't stop me from making half informed comments though. That's kind of my bread and butter.

Looks nice.

That being said, the upswept mufflers have to go. That license plate structure by the mid part of the rear wheel also needs to go. Then throw on a set of street tires.

Should be a fun ride, after all the above is done.

Well, it's a start for an American naked bike. I see a lot of MT-09 in it.

About two MT-09s in it for the asking price, but again it's start. Good for Indian.

Can’t said I hate it.

I went and sat on a fxdr as well as a lot of other new Harley’s over the weekend.

Literally did zero for me, maybe if the fxdr had normal pegs and not forward controls. But it’s a 20k bike.

Indian is on the right track to get crossovers

I find all soft tails uninspiring. The fxr and dyna were the Harley I’d buy, if I couldn’t have the xr1200. But that 20k is asinine. And I’m with ya, forward pegs suck, forces you to sit on your tailbone. But I don’t find floorboards bad at all.

Just a whole different riding experience, there’s no thrill for speed when I’m on the fxr.
