I have lived here for my entire life and I've been to all of these places but I didn't realize just how much diversity there is in the state. It's not a bad place to live.

I agree. You want rain, we got rain. You want desert, we got desert. You want farmland, orchards and ranches, we got 'em. And, luckily for me, the cost of living is very low and the wages are high here due to the Hanford Area cleanup - lot's of engineers and scientists. The downside is we are growing at a ridiculous rate. We are fortunate that the east side of the state has planned for the growth and the freeways are not (yet) crowded. The west side is not so lucky. I5 is a parking lot on most days. I love Seattle but I wouldn't want to be there this holiday weekend.
