I have bled numerous bike brake lines, over the years. It is easier to have a extra set of hands, but it can be done, by oneself.

Top up the reservoir with brake fluid, pump up the brake lever, and then slightly open the bleed valve, at the caliper. Put one end of a plastic hose just smaller than the bleed nipple end, on the bleed nipple, and put the free end of the hose, into a can/bottle. Open/close with topped up fluid, and you will evenally bleed the brake line, or brake lines on a dual system.

Very easy to do, even with new brake lines.

It's amazing what you can accomplish with a little practice. I replaced a master cylinder once and didn't even need to bleed the system afterwards :-)

After bleeding, get a cord or rope and tie the front brake lever closed. Do the same with a weight or block or wood for the rear brake. Let this sit overnight.

I don't know how it works, but it helps with bleeding. I've heard it takes any air remaining and compresses it into small enough bubbles that they pass up on the other side of the masters. Not sure, but it will help a lot to really tighten things up.

Once all air has been bled out, use basting syringe to remove fluid to proper level.

Back brakes are the same thing, only slightly easier.
