Not the current record holders. They just had people on the ground driving miles ahead of them, while listening to scanners/cb and using binoculars. Planes/drones definitely will part of whoever breaks the new record.

Coming into Colorado their e63 started shaking violently from using low octane fuel. They thought they were done. But they tried resetting the ecm and it ran again, so they set their mph ceiling at 175 til they got good fuel. LOL
