Dang, the t-rex shafts didn't fit in the frame holes. They are going back for replacement.

Got rear splash guard. Will replace the stock one which I scratched/rashed due to the passenger footpeg scratching it. Also installed left side rear turn signal. It is a dual filament which I ordered for the front. So I will use its running light input as a brake light.

Fondled her. Reinstalled mirrors. More fondling. Adjusted carb needles. Still more fondling. Have to keep her happy when it's too wet to ride, you know.

Well 3 weeks & 6days after dumping the bike in some oil in a blind corner it went back out for it's first shake down ride.

The only thing I found wrong is the new Race Tech valves need a wee bit of ajustment.

Yesterday, I washed it, cleaned and lubed the chain, changed the oil and filter, and rotated the tires.

That's not right. Make that I rotated the tires on the car while the oil was draining from the FZ1. ;)

I also checked the voltage on my battery while I had the seat off to update my maintenance log. 12.84 volts DC across the battery posts. I then pressed the starter button and after <1 minute at idle, it peaked at 13.91 volts DC.

Yesterday had breakie with pals at Moss Landing, then headed for "River Road" south of Salinas, then popped over to San Juan Bautista, for a Pepsi at J.J. Burgers, then rode home. A very nice 100 mile ride, but a bit on the hot side. Monday morning, a complete cleaning of the ol' 02 black bomber will happen.

Rode the FJ to an Italian restaurant Thurs nite. As I was leaving I overheard
two twenty something year olds..One said to the other "What is that a Busa"

Poor Things..They never had a chance

What ipod remotes people using? On the other hand wired my arrow dual filament rear turn signals today so that the running light filament comes on with the brake light. Neat little doohickey, eh
