Doesn't go "potato potato potato potato" at stop lights. - 15
100 mile (supposedly) range on one "tank" is perfect for weekend bar hopping +3
Costs several hundred per HP +5
Says Harley Davidson +5
How are these millennial new customers supposed to afford this shit? - 5
How much chrome can you add on before you buy and roll into the loan? +1

I live out in the country and need more range. 100 miles would be okay for an old battery pack that needs to be replaced. I'd expect a new battery pack to get double that range. Of course, that can all be altered by quick charging (5 minutes to 90%) when the infrastructure comes along to support EV.

Does it come with a sound track to simulate the "potato - potato -potato" sound and a varoom to accelerate? Also it needs a loud horn since it ain't got no loud pipes to be heard in the neighborhood.

RIP MoCo.
Seriously, tho, I'm friendly with the local HD dealer. I was there the other day looking at a Speed and the Livewire came up when talking to the sales manager and some reps. They were saying they hoped it would be in the 12-15k range because they figured they'd crank them out, but he was really worried it'd be around $30k. We both agreed it'd be a real tough sell.

But it does sound like the rollout is "limited." Glendale Harley is supposedly getting like 10. And they have to invest in a "charging station" and other new equipment just to have it. I was told that not all HD dealers will even have them.

Still, I agree; swing and miss. Is it a viable business plan to fail to approximate the market for a product while simultaneously overcharging for it? Ha!

Stealth corner exit passes would be a blast on an e-bike.

No, not yours, HD. The Mission bike.

From a Cycle World story on the Mission bike:

Quote:
The claimed horsepower for the liquid-cooled, three-phase AC induction motor is 163.2, and 133.4 ft.-lb. of peak torque is on tap from 0 to 6400 rpm.

Fitted with a single-speed, gear-driven primary reduction transmission, the Mission R, in base 12-kWh form, has a claimed top speed of 140 mph, and its “InfiniteDrive” controller allows the rider to adjust the mapping of the “throttle” and regenerative braking, while also allowing for fine traction-control adjustments and a remote data acquisition system.
A pity more people with adequate pockets were not attracted to this coolness. If I had "FU Money" there would be a Mission bike in my garage, parked right next to a Motus. Shows what I know

With Mission gone there's still the Energica bikes if you're lusting for a 30k ebike.

Well the down side is if you ride it in the rain in voids your warranty, But the up side is your not required to have a tattoo to make a purchase.
