Headlights and dash lights out
Hi All
Hope you guys can help. 09 FZ1 48,000 miles ride to work daily. Went to start after work today started fine but no headlights low and high beam and no dash lights. LCD tach and speedo are there but no back illumination. Called my brother and hauled it home in the dark. Checked fuses and all seemed fine. Swapped the 2 20 amp fuses and no change. Does the headlight relay also power up the dash lights? Tomorrow will take off side panel to inspect relays. Any other ideas? This happen to anyone else? Bike has been extremely trouble free. Thanks a lot. |

Check the connector 10 (?) PIN connector behind the left side of the fairing. I currently have an issue with the power wire on mine the has causes my headlight (and dash lights) to go out. When this happens the right turn and bright light indicators on the dash come on and stay and the right turn signal itself is on until I wiggle the wire and get it into a position where those indicators stay off. I have the pins to fix it at the connector but I don't have a PIN tool to remove it so at this time I have not fully eliminated my issue.
Hope this helps. |

FWIW. He hasn’t visited the board since last November.

Sorry I never replied. It was the power wire going into the connector block on the left front side. Ended up just removing both male and female connectors from block, connecting them and put a little shrink tube over the connection. Problem solved. Now I have the stator bearing noise. Just started today. Have over 50k miles so I guess I have been lucky. I am trying to educate myself with that issue.
