Cross plane streetfighter dream..

Although I love my GSXR project, It seems like it lacks a bit of soul. I'm not a big Vtwin fan so I'm thinking of an 09 R1 to rebuild as a streetfighter. I'd like to find a wrecked one and redo it. On this go around I'd like to have a better paint scheme, windscreen and belly pan. An exhaust system goes without being said.. That engine sounds amazing.
Here is a video of Gregs customs Dirt tracker R1. Thats a really nice bike!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0cCX...layer_embedded

Also here is one of the bikes I modeled my current build off of. That bike has a lot more attention to detail then mine.

I am a little concerned with low end torque. I'm completely spoiled with my K6 tuned/TRE setup, it pulls from 1500 to the moon even with stock gearing.

If you have ridden an 09 up R1, how is the low end, 2K on up?

Love the Molly paint job. Some day one of my Yamaha's will have that paint scheme. Couldn't imagine that exhaust being neighbor friendly.

Give Huey a call and ask for his opinion. He and I had an interesting discussion on the crossplane engine when I had my FZ on the dyno there.

Judging by the video, I would say such a bike would "go just fine"

Dunno about the whole dirt tracker thing, would be fine with that with normal 17s on it though.

It does go well on the pipe! I guess I just want it all, I like low end power and would hate to give much up. I'm semi concerned about regular riding not just wide open.

I wouldn't build a dirt tracker,at least not for the concrete jungle here in central Fl.
