FZ1OA Join Date

Can I find my join date in my USER profile or somewhere else? I couldn't find it. I suppose I could do a search for my earliest post if they go back to 01/02.

Thanks,

Duh, I figured it had to be somewhere. Just didn't realize it was too obvious.

Hidden in plain sight, happens to all of us every now and then. A more specific date is on the statistics page of your profile. Says you joined 07-18-2003.

Damn. Surfing the web on a windows 98 platform no doubt. Probably had aim popped up on another tab!

Oh the glory days.

I bought my Gen 1 in Sep 01 with 800 miles on it. 235K later and here we are.

I had been lurking on FZ10A since its inception. Can't remember why it took me two years to need to register and post.

Remind me again what "aim" was.

AOL Instant Messenger. Chat application. Finally retired last year. I still had a few folks on there from one of my gigs 15+ years ago.

It's also the acronym of the firm I used to sue and win against my own insurance company once upon a time, Aid to Injured Motorcyclists:

http://onabike.com/aid-to-injured-motorcyclists.html

My original name here was given to another member when I was gone for awhile so my join date is off. Think I joined in '01.

Something happened in 2003 that reset every Forum members join date. I joined around April 2002 when I purchased my FZ1. I was using Windows 95 with a 56k modem on a pentium I with 133mhz processer.

When I first lurked on this site, it was bright green text on a dark green background.

Indeed. We switched from some super crappy free (?) host and software to a new host and VB.

I think. It’s been awhile.

Man, I truly can’t even remember the original board. I do remember the switch to VB and some of the initial growing pains that came with the switch.

There are posts that got imported into VB from the old system. I have found posts from my original user ID.

The board search won't always turn em up but with google I've found threads as far back as early 2001.

Ya it’s much easier to get the old posts through google. It’s neat to see the old usernames

Probably a little later than 01 but Fusion, Tony the Tiger, and BigArms come to mind. BigArms was the muscle guy that was threatening to beat everyone up, which created some humorous posts.
