Zx14 vs my fz1 And others

Got to play with a buddy that has a zx14. I know better than hanging up top but we decided on around a 45mph roll and I shut down around 145ish

I also got to race like an 08 cbr1000 but donít have a video of that one. From a 45 with him he got pulled even up top, which we ran to around 120.

Also got to play with a gen1 hayabusa that was stock. I gave him the hit from a 45 and I blew past him and never seen him again all the way to around 150ish where I shut down.

Having recently sold a gen1 Busa, I can tell you that my pretty well modded FZ1 (full Ivans programming, Full yoshimura pipe, small box mod) has nowhere near the balls my busa had. My stock motor busa (pipe, PC2, 2 intake cams, degreed, cut airbox, basically same setup as my FZ1) with a 4" arm went 9.40s with me on it(210+) and 9.0s with a couple different light guys on it.

Safe to say The riders on the bikes you beat, weren’t riding the bike to its full potential.

Yeah, I snagged a rest ride on a 2017 Busa, and was hitting around 90 before shifting into 2nd gear, lol. I didnít have the room on the highway at the time to see 5th or 6th. I came away from that ride scratching my head how poor the front brakes were and thinking a full Brembo swap would be the first order of business if I owned one.

Every time I rode mine would invariably involve a trip to redline in 4th, which was an indicated 160ish, like in blue jeans...

When I first got it, after the engine was prepped I (properly attired) took it out on a sunday morning on I84 In Ulster County NY to an indicated 220 (pegged) I don't know that it topped 200, but it was real close. I only did that the 1 time, but there were numerous 180 true mph rides.

The FZ1 does a lot of things better, and is the bike I chose instead of Mr Busa. Raw HP isn't as important as it once was.

Congratualtions!!! The guys on those bikes were NOT riding those bikes anywhere near what those machines are capable of. All of those bikes will smoke you on your FZ1 every single time with a halfway competent rider onboard.

But again, congrats!!! You won "bragging rights" in your mind, LOL!

My brother has a gen2 08 busa that’s flashed with header and geared. That bike slowly starts pulling me up top. Didn’t think videos lied *♂️ So not sure where the hate is coming from. Although I do have the fastest gen2 fz1 on the board, so I know I ride mine to its potential and have been able to replicate these results time and time again.

Would you like to see a 2017 R1 race as well? A 2009 vmax? Or a 2006 gsxr1000 let me know I’ve got videos of all.

My 08 busa I sold to my brother luckily already had the brembo brakes up front when I got it. The busa did out trap my fz1 by 8mph in the 1/4 with me riding both bikes. However with my brother who weighs about 215 and I weigh around 165. We are a very close run up to 140. Itís within 2 bike lengths, and he rides the hell out that bike.

I’ve seen your vids on your channel.

You’re taking to a group of people who have owned fully modded Fz1s.

It’s simply impossible for you to hang or beat those bikes. However it is fully possible for you to hang or beat the RIDERS on those bikes. Which you did. So bravo for bragging rights.

Take your bike to a track and post some meaningful numbers.

And lolz to having the fasted Fz1 on the board. I know A member here who has a supercharged Fz1 as well as a couple with r1 engines in the Fz1 frame who will disagree.

But your ego seems to be much bigger

The fastest 1/4 is a 10.06. Havenít seen one post a faster time. Also that was only with a couple mods. Itís been quicker, is all Iím saying.

If it was a dig race then yes rider comes into play. Roll races takes out the rider just about. Unless poor guy starts in 2nd @ 45. Either way not my fault, I do know these guys were all in 1st starting out.

I see modded fz1s that canít seem to break out of the 11s and only trapping like 130-134. I donít see those the same as mine. My bike is lightweight, and all bolt ons, along with free mods.

Just like to show what a properly ridden and modded fz1 can do, thatís all.

a stock gen2 is in the mid 10s, so with full bolt ons, a good tune and a good 60ft low 10s is about right

BUT

a stock zx14 is in the mid to high 9s.

a stock 08 cbr1000rr is in the high 9s.

a stock gen1 busa is in the mid 9s.

You beat the riders on those bikes, which oddly enough that's what half of your threads have been about, obviously you're a good rider, which has more to do with you than the fz.

Nope it's not your fault but that doesn't mean your bike is faster. No hate just physics.

In the one video the guy on the ZX-14 obviously has no idea what he is doing and he is still coming by like a freight train at the end of the run.

Rode a friend's lightly modded Hayabusa (full exhaust, PC3), in 3rd gear and just getting on the cam, it lit up the tire at 100 mph with casual ease. I was quite impressed by that.

I think the Hayabusa made 175 on the dyno, and a boatload of torque, evidently. All this was years ago, before traction control was a thing My FZ scoots, but it does not light up the tire on whim, and I am good with that. The Busa is a whole different animal - what a stout and beautiful power band, one that will squash a rider like a bug if not approached with respect.

Bikes owned:
Gen1 Fz1 usual mods & some head work
09 cbr1000rr with usual mods incl bazazz fi & tcu

I've ridden a gen2 and a zx14 wide open.
In a straight line: ZX14, CBR, FZ1 - no doubt.
Never ridden a Busa.

My cbr(B4 I modded it) was a full sec faster than my Fz1 in the 1/4 on my 1st pass. "That and a dime" will get you a cup of coffee. The Kawi is in a different league.

Me on my gen 2 busa (now my brothers) was only a tenth and half faster to the 1/8. It was 6 or 7mph faster in the 1/8. In the 1/4 the busa was about .5sec faster and 8mph trap speed. Now you throw on a guy that weighs 60lbs more on that modded busa were damn close. The guy in the zx14 in that video is prob around 240lbs.

On the 2nd video where I spun, which hardly ever happens, you can see he’s not just freight training me. I told everyone that day I’m done at about 140 and don’t expect to keep up after 140 on a naked bike.

If any of y’all are close to alabama just let me know.

Come back and post another thread of you beating slower riders, on your Fz1 that has the same mods as every other one on here, in another year.

Or maybe a vid at a track on the fasted Fz1 on the forum.

Look forward to it.
