I would in a heartbeat if I could. It's a phenomenal bike that rides old school, lotsa wrist control necessary as it drives hard off corners

The smart IMU ABS and TC is really remarkable on the road and the track. If you dial it up on the road and whack it open, you'll hear it cutting in. 1 is lowest, 9 is highest. 1-4 is for track use per the manual and 5-9 on the road.

Setting 4 lets the tail slide really easily on the track with a nice, smooth motion that made me feel like a much better rider than I am. I cruised around Jennings GP in 4th gear for a couple laps, then 3rd and 4th just to learn the lines on my first visit. It's such a relaxing way to go about it.

Then, when you want to unleash it, or pass anyone, at anytime at a trackday, riding school or on the road.... just twist and go!

I just rode it to the dealer last week to have the IMU sensor update completed and was reminded of how fun it is and how nice the suspension works. You can tune it to remove the sharp edges at the factory settings, and just a click up on the settings for the track and you're GTG without wallowing, and incredible feel.

The '15 R1 was a big Japanese step forward after the BMW RR. These '17 GSXR's (especially the R models) were the next leap forward with 199 hp and the full electronics suite, including quickshifter and auto-blip along with the IMU-based cornering ABS and TC.
