Anyone need a R6 rear shock?

Greetings!

I am a newbie to the forum and I have a 2002 Gen 1 that I am restoring back to life in a naked configuration. I have been doing my best to read all the great info on the site and reaching out to some great local help in my area (thanks Grommet!). One thing I am for sure doing after considering it is the rear R6 shock conversion as I am about a 225-230lbs rider. I know that there are ready to install kits for sale on here and from what I have read they seem really good . . .but that said . . . I am a builder and a DIY'er and I am wanting to do the dog bone links and mod the shock myself.

Reason for the post: I have found a source on a R6 forum that has (5) 2008-2016 shocks available. From what he says 3-4 of them are from bikes with ~1200-3500 miles on them, and 1 from a bike that has ~20K miles on it. All look to be in good condition. I will be getting one and possibly a second for a spare and that leaves 2-3 available.

Question: Does anyone need one? The gent said he would work with me on a package deal. He normally asks $40/ea but with a package deal I can probably work that down a bit.

Just thought I would ask - anyone interested let me know fairly soon . . . want to get mine in the box and installed!

Folks I've met Rob and he's a straight up guy. Like many of us, he's been away from bikes for some years and coming back into the fold with a Gen 1. Yes, we've had the conversation about taking it slow at first. He gets it.

He's a skilled fabricator and knows his way around the shop.

BTW Rob, $40 for those shocks is a good deal.

Anyone on the fence on this mod should jump on it.

That's exactly what I was thinking based on the prices I was seeing and following on ebay (ave. $60-$120 w/ shipping)! I have a couple pics from the seller if anyone is on the fence. I believe there are 4 silver springs and 1 yellow spring.

For the price I will likely get 2.

They are normally good for 40-50K miles before needing a complete service, so having a spare on hand is not a bad idea to avoid downtime.

Pulled the trigger and got two . . . great seller! . . .had them boxed and ready to ship in a couple hours! Price was right at just under $31/ea. We'll see what they look like when I get them.

If anyone sees this post and is interested in getting the contact info for the gent who has some for sale just shoot me a PM. Seems like a very honest seller and he sent me well organized photos with letters etc for each shock . . . even sent additional pics when I asked.
