Great picture, and I hope to hear more about it! Do you have more pics coming too?

We ended up in Estes and RMNP yesterday late when I took a day off after teaching and made Mike haul me around. I think I sprained my wrist. As we sat at Starbucks in Estes along the river I realized you might still be up there! But no way to get a hold of you so late....

Glad you enjoyed it!

My 4 year old threw up last night, so we kept him home today. I stayed with him, it was obvious after lunch he was fine. We went to the pond out back and fed the ducks.

That's a Stallion trike.

Did you say something about "more pics" ?
(I'm sorry we missed seeing you and Mike)

There was a close encounter with a large bull elk. This photo was with a macro lens, not a telephoto ....... this beast was close, and wasn't happy.

They are pretty used to people, especially fond of the taste of those from the midwest. You see people try to walk up to them all the time, but with a good lens is a better idea. Especially at this time of year, they are in rut.

She is a smart woman, I was charged by an elk in the fall in Banff once. It was a false charge but I didn't know it at the time. Me behind a lens and didn't see it coming. G pulled me behind a tree.

How did you get the photo while walking quickly away?

We were a pair of the few 'crazies' out during the bad weather, Tina.
One of his harem was crossing a shallow lake just to our left, when whammo
....... he jumps up on the knoll directly behind us.

Here is what he's protecting. And BTW, I was able to hear the almost 'alien' sounding bellow many times. Very haunting, indeed.

Watch your step Hammer, too close and they want to have children with you.

Always a great thread, fantastic images of everything and I love to see the children of friends as they grow up and assist and sabotage their parents. Good stuff.

Awesome thread! I'd like to add my two favorite photos and contribute as well...amazing photographers here.

The 1st is a photoshop image that I made, the cross is my own design, and later became a tattoo that I got on my back ( I'll can put that up too just to show it )

The 2nd is a photo I took this summer at Redfish Lake while visiting my parents who live in Idaho.... it's taken at about 6am when it was about 35 degrees (brrrr, chilly for someone from Alabama!).

Nice tatt mtb856.

RR, I wonder what strange images you are planting in his young mind.

My boys sleeping off this past Sunday afternoon.
