Regular Q3. I got them for free from my friend Don, with a couple of trackdays on them already. They probably have a couple more in them. They are a little shredded looking right now but a lot of the boogers will fall right off next time I use them.

No slips, no TC, no ABS all day. Loads of power wheelies

Yes, I'll take them off and save for next time. Will run whatever I have in the garage for commuting, then back to the set of T30s I have around 3000 miles on for my next long trip.

Will bring new midrange tires (S21, probably) to Arkansas.

Very nice, I knew you had a tire changer so you can do all the swaps ya want

I have S21's on the SV650. 5 track days, 1200 miles (500-650 on the track) edge to edge at 29/28 cold psi, and never one slip, and maybe 10-15% wear on the outer sipes, none in the middle.

Fermic has praise for the S21's as well on the street. I'm sure you COULD light them up, but you have a better right hand than that so I would recommend them. The front is VERY communicative in a turn and provides a lot of confidence under braking, and I have gotten on the brakes very hard the last 2 trackdays. Both my mechanic who is CMRA bike builder/mechanic and trackside vendors classify the S21 at the same level as the Q3.
I think you will like them and find they will last you possibly 4K miles even with all that torque.

I'm about to switch to some SuperCorsa SC2 takeoff's from a local racer and try them out. They are the TIP TOP of the DOT tire line. 100$ for two sets with 3 trackdays left in each, minimum. After that, I will decide if I really wanna drop $390 on a new set of SC2 tires for the play toy. Yikes! But I want more than Q3 performance and they isn't much else in a 160 rear between Q3 and slicks. Ha. Possibly try the Rosso Corsa's after but they are still like a street orientation tire although the side compounds are similar to the SC2. Tire decisions have been on my mind for weeks now. Plus after feeling the glue-like grip that people say the SC2 offers, will I want to go back to a semi street oriented tire? Probably not! Ha!

My S21s after the 4th trackday (so I stay on topic with the thread) Kinda cool you can see the different compounds on the rear tire

4th session out today, instructor was videoing and critiquing me. I got named "Apex of the Day". Still got a lot of apex's left in the lap to perfect but I'll take it.

So upgrading to Pirelli SuperCorsas SC2 compound made my last trackday a blast. I never really worried about grip with the S21s but I knew there was more confidence to be had and under really hard braking, the front would get squirrelly. With these new SuperCorsas, I drug my knee over a dozen times, and not just light scrapes like before, and I wasn't worried, the tires combines with good body position gave me so much confidence. I took the big high speed corner going 10 MPH faster at entry with these. If you can get some race take offs and try them for a track day, you won't be disappointed. Sadly, y'all probably have machines over 100HP so it won't last you long! Ha! (Ignore the hole in the puck, it was there when I bought my suit used. But the scrapes are now mine.

Here is the track layout and I ran it CCW. I finally got my Sena 10C back from Sena after they replaced it after some jerk at the rally threw a rock up and cracked my lens. Level 2 is intermediate and no inside adding is allowed (inside passing once the bike in front tips in towards the apex). Orange X's mark entry and exit points and cones mark the Apex. Feel free to critique or give opinion. This was my best trackday so far.

This was my fastest session of the day, session 6. About 9 minute long clip.

This was from session 5. Had some fun with the RC390 running with me, he would catch me when I encounter traffic and pass us. He had excellent corner speed and ran his "weird" but necessary LW bike racing lines. 16 minutes long.

So the guy on the RC390 commented on my video of session 5 where we swapped spots often. He has his own sweet video with telemetry and such but also it was nice to see my body position and such from someone behind. I'm the blue SV650, black and white suit and black helmet with yellow strip. I can tell I definitely got my head and shoulders lower in session 6, and that's what the instructor told me to work on as well, although session 5 wasn't horrible

Here's that RC390

If we're doing videos: CSS in August at VIR. Pouring down in the morning, stops just before we get on the track. The track is super slippery all of a sudden so took it easy for a bit.
First time on the track.

Grommet, being the great dude he is, jumped on the opportunity to come visit and do a trackday with me at the end of October. We did the Cresson 1.7 CCW track with RideSmart.
I had a trackday the day before with the SV and developed a shifter/clutch issue and so I had to use the FZ1 (trackday was already bought, no refunds). Pretty new Angel GT front and a rear with a good flat spot and 6800ish miles. Actually had a blast on the FZ1, so much more drive and power in the straights for sure and it was fun to play with it. Really was crawling all over the FZ trying to get body position because I was scared to death of lowsiding the FZ, and couldn't get great feedback in the tightest corner on track where I normally drag knee. Instructor said he was amused and was just watching my tire profile the whole time because again, it had a nice flat spot from commuting. Chillin with Grommet all day was cool.

Grommet's SD1290 is a sexy sight in person, sounds amazing, and after 1 lap on it, absolutely terrifying! Grommet had fun (I think) and looked good on track too, his lines were good especially for his 1st time at this track.

Tires handled admirably. I was surprised. Ran 32/32 on the Angel GT's. Having a truck is nice

Made it to Jennings New Years Eve! Couple pics of the old ThunderRat!
Even worked in an old school shout out to PJ on the number plate (if you look close). The brake reservoir he sold me back in the day may be the nicest thing on her!
Can’t pass up a van pic opportunity while I’m at it, too!
