I drive an FZ as do most of you. I wish Dale would give a sound bite of the stock muffler so I have a control to compare it too. Bikes sound like bikes but computers are always going to sound like computers.

However, I trust the things I read here, and I respect what Dale has done. I admire and envy Dale. There is no one I would rather give my money too. Not that I like giving my money to anyone but I have got to sound COOL. I need a Holeshot.

What I would like to hear is a stock FZ1 so I know how that electric-sound-a-like muffler sounds on my computer. Then, let me hear yours. I read the charts, and I am buying one anyway because the power band is smoother.

Dale, this is not a complaint, just a wish list.

If you follow the link in the post above yours you can find samples of stock and Holeshot and a bunch more. What else are you looking for? For instance, stock and full muzzys are both on there, that's all I've had on my FZ1.

I'm way out in California, but I've got one. It's aluminum, not C.F.

EDIT

this pipe has some scratches on it.
Free if anyone wants it.

Not exactly an apothecary scale, and not heavy enough to trigger my digital bathroom scale, but when I add it to my weight it registers 7 lbs. I can't weight the stock exhaust because it is on the bike, but I remember it is considerably heavier. Here is a plethora of sound clips:

I love the tone. It has a nice "basso" rumble at lesser RPM and a nice growl at higher revs.

I just took my stock can off my 03 FZ and put on a MIVV GP Carbon. Love the sound so far after my first ride today. I weighed the stock can and it weighs about 11 and a half pounds.

Use the search

http://www.yamahafz1oa.com/forum/sho...ht=Leaking+gas

O ring leaks and bowl gaskets are relatively common and well documented. You’ll have to pull the carbs to fix the leak anyway, so you’ll probably find the leak when you’re pulling them out. Check the bowls for cracks, it can happen if the screws are tightened too much.

If it’s the o rings that are leaking, here is the part #(9262K629), courtesy of grommet.
