To be fair though, the stock brakes on those things were utterly horrible anyways.

And no that IS NOT a common mod.

There are many sites on the web that sell OEM parts. Most of them have the schematics and numbers by which you can get part numbers. Rear wheels can be had pretty regularly on eBay.
I just sold a straight rear and a front with a very slight bend for $45.00. The front could be fixed for about $75.00. Nice set of wheels for less than $150.00. You can find decent deals on wheels from time to time. Someone on here probably has a set they don't use...WC???

Of the axle and spacer setup, of course. That's what this thread is about.
I just figured that if someone had pictures of their Gen2 axle and rear wheel assembly it might help the OP.

I can take some when I get home today. But it’s nothing special. Just a spacer with a lip on it that sticks into the dust boots on each side. One side goes in the wheel, the other side goes into the Cush drive hub. Same size spacer on both sides if I recall correctly.

Mine are not the same size. On the parts fiche, one size is used exclusively with the FZ1 line up, the other is used with R1 and some others. I assumed the larger one is the one that goes on the brake side. New to me rear rim mocked up seems to support that, but I was looking for confirmation. New tire should arrive today and new sprocket tomorrow. Hope that's it. Thanks for all the help everyone. This group has been great!

If this is any help at all, i have a center hub that the rear sprocket bolts onto, from a 2013 gen.2 FZ1. Said center hub only has 7,639 miles on it, and comes with the sprocket bolt studs/nuts/washers, and the center bearing, with oil seal, inside the hub. All in mint, perfect condition. I used the 45 tooth o.e.m. sprocket from said center hub, which i put on my 2001, FZ1.

If interested, just pay for the shipping, and you can have the complete center hub, along with the o.e.m. 44 tooth gen.1 sprocket, that i removed. That sprocket only has 10k miles on it. Might help you, get back on the road. Just a thought for you.

Let me know soon, as i am about to throw the center hub away. It will not fit my gen.1 FZ1's, so i do not need it.

And best of luck, on your project.

Dean
