Thanks for the reminder! Will have to check my hard working Harbor Freight "Trailer of Sadness" coupler adjustment. It works hard toting dirt bikes from CO to UT.

I do like to squirt a little chain lube on the latch mechanism, makes it easier to engage. Have never greased the ball.

I hit it with spray chain lube when I think about it.
'01 FZ1 set up for distance
'07 FZ1 set up for fun
(both in the *faster* blue)

Which would you prefer?

I clean the ball off with a rag, and then put a dime sized drop of whatever kind of grease is handy on top of the ball. Adjusting the nut is easy and doesn’t have to be done often. But I forget to do it sometimes because “it was alright the last time I used it “.

Don’t forget to cross your safety chains.

Went with my brother in law in his Toyota truck pulling a trailer full of junk to take to the dump. On the way back as he slowed for a red light the trailer ran into the back of his truck. Older Toyota with steel bumpers so really no damage. The nut fell off the ball, that is another thing I check a lot, I'm not sure why every ball doesn't have a hole through it for a cotter pin. Even with a pin I still like to check it every time I use it.
