Another Zero - Shad

For my S1000XR I ordered Shad side and top cases, along with side case soft bags and top case mounting kit on 3/2, a week or so later, I received and email that "one or more" of my items had shipped and the shipment showed up on 3/14.

After reviewing what I received, I noticed they didn't send the mounting parts for the top case, the white accent plates for the side cases (they sent black), or the soft bags. I emailed them that night, waited several days and got no response. So I called them on 3/17 and was told those parts were on backorder and someone would get back with me to give me an ETA. I wait a week with no word so I call again and they tell me the parts will be in early the next week (week of 3/27). That next week goes by and I call again on Monday 4/3 and was told the items were set to be processed and shipped 4/4 - 4/5.

So here I am on 4/6 with no shipping update or any further communication. On every call I was told that they would proactively contact me to keep me updated but have not done so at any point. At this point I have little faith in what they tell me and while their customer service seems ok when you are actually on the phone with them, it's obviously lacking. I really like the luggage and the minimal look of the side case mounts but I don't think I would ever order from them again.

Do they sell through any other resellers, like Revzilla? You'd probably have more luck buying through them as they seem to be very customer-service oriented.

Probably doesn't help you too much in your current situation though - good luck.

I don't think they sell through any other retailers. At least I've been able to use the side cases in the meantime and the weather hasn't been good enough to ride very much. Small victories...
I'm fully counting on it taking a week to get here once it ships as well like the first shipment did. You'd think they'd expedite the shipping in cases like this...we'll see what they do.

Seems par for the course these days. I am amazed by the horrible customer service I receive all the time.

I just contacted them again and was told they would receive the parts today or tomorrow and get them shipped out

A day after I posted the above I got a shipment notification from UPS (not Shad) and of course it was a 5 day delivery schedule. It finally arrived today (never did get any notification from Shad) and what was in the box? Any of the 3 parts I was waiting for off of back-order? Nope. It was the side case mounts that I already got with the original shipment. Morons.
So I'm still unable to mount the top case and no one else really sells the mount that I can find unless I order from overseas and no guarantees any of them have stock. BTW, Shad's site shows (and has been showing) 24-48 hr availability of every part I have on backorder. Can't wait to call them tomorrow for the 4th time. If I thought they would actually do it correctly, I'd send all their shit back and ask for a full refund.

I called and left a VM (had to every time I've called). To their credit, they usually call back relatively quickly.

Had to call them back and route it so I got to speak to someone...same guy every time. Must be a one man show. Sounded like he was working from home (heard kids in the background) but so am I so I can't say much about that...
Now the parts are supposed to come in (to them) by 4/19. When told this is the third time I've been told that they would be in on x date, he could only say he was sorry and they'll get it out as fast as they can.
When I mentioned that they sent me the side mount kit for the second time, he had no clue that it was sent and asked that I return it with a label they'll send me. Riiiight.

Aren't they a Spanish company?

Probably too busy relaxing, eating tapas, and drinking Grenache.

Good for them. Not so much for your delivery times! I'm sure it will get there eventually.

I've ordered a ton of stuff in the past few months...only a few hiccups.

Shad did indeed send me an electronic return label for the extra pannier mounts they sent. I hope that label is good for a few months at least...

Funny how quickly they turned that around.

Got notification from UPS that Shad sent me a shipment...should be here tomorrow surprisingly. The reference # in the shipment is the part number for the top case mount so fingers crossed on that.

Hey, waddaya know the mount kit showed up today! Still waiting on the inner soft bags and the white trim pieces but at least I can use the top case now. Of course, the weather isn't going to cooperate this week.
