02 no brake nor tail lights

Working on a friends 02. Seem to have gotten his carbs cleaned and bike now runs good. Just noticed that there is no brake nor taillights. All connections look to be tight. Nothing with hand nor foot brake.
I never messed with the rear of the bike.
Thoughts?

Have you checked the fuse? Pretty sure that the box is under the seat

Is there 1 fuse for both tail and brake? I looked at one bulb. Both filaments look goid. I did swap the 1 fuse that says tail. Nothing still. Is there a relay?

Check the front brake light switch for proper operation. Pull the two small blade connectors off the bottom, then use a multimeter to check continuity between the two terminals. IIRC, it should normally be an open circuit (no continuity) before pulling on the lever, then closed circuit (continuity) while pulling the lever.

Check that the switch is there, connected, and that the little actuator pin moves when the lever is pulled and released.

Then check the rear switch is there and connected.

yeah, both bulbs could go out. They likely didn't notice when one went out as the other one was working fine.

This could cause the both brake light and tail lights to be out?

Here is what i found while wiggling wires. There is an aftermarket box that intergrates the turn and brake lights BUT this box makes the brake lights both blink when brakes applied. Never going to frozen brake light, just blinks. And when you hit a turn signal that lite blinks but when you clear that lite goes totally dark for about 2 seconds then lites back up.
Anyone heard of this? I had an old trailer integrator on my old 02 years ago. Worked great.

Yes that’s one of those dumb modulators. Remove it. Brake lights should work normal

It shouldn't have an impact to the tail lights. Sounds like that tail/brake/turn integrator box may be the culprit.
