Oil level rising?

I changed my oil yesterday, and filled it until the sight glass was 3/4 to the 'full' line. I ran it for a few minutes, and the level went back to where it was when i stopped the engine, there were no leaks, so i called it good.

This morning I checked the glass again, and it remained at 3/4 to full. Went for a 160 mile ride, and now the glass is full when I shut it down?

Unless I'm Jed Clampett, something seems off. Any ideas what I might have done wrong?

See the same thing on my Gen 1 all the time. I think the manual says check after warm, I just try to be consistent as to when I check.

Gen 2 seems to like to hide oil somewhere in the engine, particularly when cold (at least mine does) so it’s either you had some hiding out or the ground was less level than it appeared. That or the Clampet theory in which case the single members here will be asking if you’ll be bringing Elle May to the next rally.

I can't explain this properly but when the oil gets hot it expands. It is completely normal. You should fill it up to half of sight glass when cold. And always check oil level when hot. Overfilling is not good for engine. Sometimes when I lean the bike on both sides the oil level in sight glass goes few milimeters up.
