gen 2 wheels on gen 1

Is it easily done or will there be mods at every conceivable place? Im ok with turning some wheel spacers but I don't want to mod everything to make them work.

There's an old thread:

Also, R1 wheels 2004 and up to at least 2012 or so are the same as FZ1 Gen 2 wheels. FZ1 gen 2 brake rotors are 320mm, where the R1 rotors are 300mm. You can use the FZ1 rotors with R1 forks 2004 and up if you add spacers under the calipers to push the calipers out a bit.

I did the swap using a set of 2008 R1 wheels. There's no real gain except in the looks department. I did it because I had them and my front OEM wheel had a bent lip on one side. In the end, though, it was worth it.

U-shaped spokes and more of them. More stuff to clean. (They do look better, though.)
