Your Most Recent Purchase(pics required!)

Not sure if there is a thread like this, did a few searches and came up empty.

So show us what you purchased recently and give everyone some new ideas on how to burn through some of that extra cash!

It can be as big as buying a new house or as small as what you had for lunch, but pics are required! (even if they're stock photos)

I'll start...

So I just bought my two older kids(10 and 12) a Kindle Fire and an ipod Touch.

Not sure what posessed me as I'm a tight ass and have never been one to spoil my kids. I guess they just kicked a lot of ass in school this year and I wanted to reward them.

Baby's first smartphone

I'm a tightwad too - only got my first laptop because it came with grad school, only got my iPod Touch because it came with the laptop, and just recently got my first smartphone because I moved to a prepaid plan that doesn't bend me over for data. LG Optimus Elite (lol at the Elite - it's about 1.5-2 years behind the edge of mass commercial tech). It's pretty sweet - put my iPod Touch up on Craigslist, as it's now redundant; deleted iTunes from my Macbook (I really hated that program), stream Pandora at work or on the road, really like the keyboard intuition program, and have pre-cached maps in the surrounding area to make it easier to play the local motorcycle tag game even if I don't have data coverage.

Including a pic I took today for the local tag game, and some stock pic of the phone, too.

Oh, and I almost forgot my favorite thing! I'd always be asking my partner what her plans for the weekend were/when she was working next, stuff like that. She'd add stuff to her iCal on her MBPro, or on her iPhone, but they wouldn't wirelessly sync (think her Pro didn't have the newest OS), so she'd manually move stuff onto the laptop's iCal, then export the file and email it to me, then I'd import it into my iCal on my Macbook... you get the point. Information didn't flow well, at all.

So I set our google calendars up - now anything she inputs on the iPhone ( in ~5-10 seconds max) syncs with the google calendar, which is shared with me, which syncs with my Droid. And the reverse, as well! Not that we're especially busy, but I have many times mistakenly assumed that I've informed her about some event and end up "springing" it on her the day of, or the day after.

I'm sure I'm writing from a position of some naivete compared to some of you that have been saturated with phone tech and are already bored with the latest and greatest, but it's all new to me and I'm loving it!

I just bought my first smartphone too, $85 for a "new" original Droid. Tired of Verizon having me by the balls with a contract so I'm buying my own phones until my contract is up...with my phone, the wife's phone, and the extra phone the kids take for sports and stuff it would be $900 to cancel my contract!

Got in a bike carrier so I don't have to always use the trailer. Did I ever mention I hate trailers and most trailer related items?

No pics yet, but I'll soon be buying my son a new set of golf clubs. I made him a promise, about 3 years ago now, if he ever took the old man in a round of golf I'd buy him a new set of clubs. Tonight was the night... he took me by 5 strokes... he's been using my old set of clubs I used back in high school (27 years ago).

Not sure if any of you are golfers, but these are the same clubs I used playing against Steve Stricker in high school (rivals), who's now on the PGA Tour and a multi millionaire... I'm an FZ1 owner, hell ya.

Nice. If I remember right he married into a golfing family as well. His wife carried his bag until the late 90's when they had their first child (think she still does it now and then.) But his in-laws were quite the golfers, this his FIL as well as his BIL played on Tour at some point.

Been playing for 34 years, started when I was 4 and never looked back; love the game. If I may, a quick bit of advice; buy him some blades, or muscle cut blades. If he's learned to play on those old clubs you have, he'll swing a newer blade the same way. They are surely more balanced, will have a better shaft and nothing develops and keeps a swing natural the way blades can. Just my two pennies....(maybe even less).

This afternoon when he got off work, guess what? My phone rings and he asks what I'm doing? We headed over to our local sports store (Dunhams). He had gone there last night right from the course and was scoping out some blades. I ended up getting him Taylor Made Burner Plus irons. Compared to my old Wilson Sam Snead 100's that he beat me with, he's pretty happy and was headed to the range.

He's also using an old Mizuno driver of mine. He asked me if a new driver would cure his slice... I smiled and told him no, only YOU can fix your slice, and commenced to tell him that I had more than a grand wrapped up in my golf gear and that he just beat me with a vintage early 80's set of clubs that I bought at Kmart for around $160.00.

On the way home he said he starting playing darts with his friends. I said "cricket" he said "yup, but I need to buy some darts... bar darts suck". I told him I had an old set he could use and we could go play sometime. He said "so I can beat you with your own darts now". If that happens...

What are some examples? I'm looking to take golf a little more seriously.
I know they are kind of old but I have always had a thing for Ping Zing 2. I LOVE those things.

That Blue Heeler is beatiful!!! and I agree - they are really smart.
Also have a natural talent for herding. We picked up a stray and kept it for a few days until we found it's owner.
That dog practically tried to break down our fences to get at the goats that grazed on an adjoining fence line. LOL It was really funny to watch.
