I would get the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Petersen. He explains things really well.

I was working in Miami today. The first is Brickell which is on the mainland before you cross the causeway to go over to Miami Beach which is the second (Ocean Dr.).

Nice photos. The perspective on the first one is really cool...

It looks like a prison.

edit: But it is a fort, briefly used as a military prison. Fort Boyard. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_B...(fortification)

That place is on GeoGuessr.. I was stuck there for a long while trying to figure it out, all the signs were in Japanese. Lots of fun roaming around, though. I forget how I figured it out....

A former MSF student of mine, living in the UK, has a facebook photo page where she picks a theme a week and people can post up pictures each day or a certain amount in a set, like 11 over a week. Like last week was fall leaves, this week is autumn theme overall, prior to that bridges, etc. Would anyone be interested in doing something like that here?

I would. I need to start taking photos of things other than rocks

Seriously though, I think that would be cool.

That’s a great idea, Tina!

Will you start things off with owls?

Okay, just because I know Carl isn't happy unless he is seeing my hooters, I'll go first.

I'm traveling next week and since it is Weds, we'll go long on this one. I'll pick this theme and set the rules for the first round until we get it going, then maybe we start alternating in that who sets the theme then picks the next person to set the next theme and so on. Like this....

Oct 11 - Oct 21 Tina Theme: Feels Like Fall (leaves, decor, weather, farm, colors, etc). Post one photo a day. When you post the photo, number it #/11.

Oct 22 - Oct 29 - I nominate Carl to pick the next theme and post it on the 22nd. 7/7.

Fall Theme 1/11

Northern Saw-Whet Owl at Chief Plenty Coups State Park, Montana, Oct 7, 2017 (you don't have to include a title, date, etc unless you want, but you can also feel free to say why it feels like it fits the theme if it isn't obvious)

Also, you don't HAVE to post 11 or 7 or whatever, and if you want to post all at once, or 2-3 on a day is fine. Just jump in when you can with what you have. I know a lot of us work or are busy like crazy.

The fun thing I've found about this exercise is it makes you think. Like do I have photos that would be good in black and white, okay, I remember taking a picture of a bridge...when was that, go back and find it, or get out and take more pics.
