Checking in.. Out for two weeks and much of it is remote so far. I have internet tonight! Wooo Hooo. I post on FB some days from the iPhone if you want to see my pictures.

I'm in a non insulated motorhome and it was 20 this morning. Poor Duffy was eve cold. I have a nice electric mattress pad on my bed so that's helpful but I had a cold nose. Should get better now. We came down from the mountain today and are in Mt. Airy NC. Fun place. Having a great time. Miss you all. Stay warm! I saw some HD riders this morning with those low temps. Just sayin!

Was Mt. Airy close to what Mayberry fans would like to see?

Been enjoying your pics, Barb.

Happy Sunday. Watching the India F1, enjoying my coffee, wondering which project I'll tackle today..

It's a cool little old town but it's just using all the names of fame. It was Andy's home town but nothing to do with the show. It was filmed I California.

T minus 2 months before I get to start cooking in this kitchen; I simply cannot wait. Michelle and I enjoy cooking together, but our current living situation has a small kitchen and it's not nearly as enjoyable for both of us to be in there at the same time. We will have a different backsplash than this one, but everything else (except the lighting) is identical.

I never knew it was Andy's home town. I just knew it claimed to be the inspiration for Mayberry. Now that you have been there, how far would you drive just to see it?

Thanks y'all. We've moved four times in the last 3 1/2 years. While that many moves was almost intentional until we found where we wanted to put down roots, it didn't make it any easier. Looking forward to having a "forever" home finally.

I didn't know that motorhomes were manufactured w/o insulation (not that I ever investigated).

Nice looking kitchen, RS. I'm sure it will be nice to cook and spend time in there.

This weekend I put the liner in my riding gear. I feel like the Michelin man, though it's comfortable and warm riding in it now that temps have cooled.

@RS - looks like a great setting to whip up some mac & cheese!
Here's to hoping your roots grow long and strong.

Thanks KT and PS, really looking forward to spending some time in there. Don't know about the Mac & Cheese, but done properly that is a Southern Staple at any Potluck worth its salt

OMG this is my dream kitchen. Going to be buying a different house and the kitchen has to be my priority. Has to have a window over the sink. I want the white subway tile backsplash too, I have it now and love it. What backsplash are you chosing? Gorgeous!!!

Kathy had already retired to the cabin when I took this photo, but we both enjoyed the campfire immensely during our last visit to the hideaway.

I was compelled to set the camera on a tripod to capture the ambiance. It was truly a Fall night, with temps in the low 40's, and the fire felt wonderful.

Thanks Barb, we are overcome with joy just at the prospects of moving in there. We are currently leaning towards something in the Travertine subway tile family, just maybe a bit darker to offset the contrasting island cabinets. Also maybe a little deco or something over the gas stove; similar to this maybe.
