Dyno tuner in Los Angeles west side?

I am looking for an experienced FZ1 tuner in Los Angeles west side to look at the bike and suggest what is needed. its bone stock & has a good potential, 2004 with 6500 miles.
Thanks

Youll get plenty of suggestions right here from a decade of people riding the bike.

The mods for the Gen I are well-known and proven many times over. Why pay someone to suggest them to you?

I can understand installing them and then paying for dyno runs to see what difference they made, but why pay for the advice? Unless Im misunderstanding your question?

By the way, Im in the LA area. Maybe we can meet up and you can check out my bike. Bring a notebook and a good pen....there are so many farkles, upgrades, and modifications on this thing it will take some time to write them all down.

Thank doG it came with most of it...I wouldnt want to have to buy it all....

Yah, what to do and not do has already been figured out a long time ago.

I was thinking the same thing as firefly except I'm in San Diego. My bike already has several mods as I bought it, including pods and some jet kit. Not sure which one as I haven't torn into the carbs yet but I'm guessing HoleShot as I have HoleShot AIS block offs too. My bike seem to run very rich right now so I think it's going to need some re-jetting to get it right.

That would be great, you ride my bike & I ride yours a little then point out the areas to improve, the FZ is new to me, I like it but think it can do better.
I am in Santa Monica so we can go for a nice ride in the mountains later, or dinner or drinks, whatever, sunday is a good day for me.
Thanks

whoa..whoa there! Firefly wants to jump in bed on the first date...

I know its just a bike and its not like Ive named it or call it "she" or anything, but I dont typically let people I dont know ride it either...

I need a little romancing first....

I might not be able to ride until after Memorial Day, but I havent been up in the Malibu Hills for while so that would be good.

Knowing that you have the same bike & been riding for a while I don't mind letting you ride my bike to compare it with your tuned bike, no crazy riding, if you feel comfortable me riding your bike one or two blocks is all I need for comparison, (engine sound, smoothness, acceleration) my most important thing is smooth off idle and very small throttle changes, my bike feels abrupt and very buzzy with some hesitation at off idle throttle opening.
I basicaly ride surface streets with intense lane splitting & filtering all day long. high speeds are not the issue. any sunday will work fine for me.

No problem, we'll work out something. As for the buzziness, you would find my bike vastly different from the vibration that the stock bars are well-known for. I installed Convertibars some time ago and they knock down anywhere from 75-90% of the vibration you feel in your hands.

I think most of the buzzing I have is due to a sad state of tune, these convertible bars are pricey, I was thinking of adding a rubber washer to the stock handle bar mounts & see if it helps. is your bike 1st gen?

Yep, Gen I. The bars are expensive, but with the loss of vibration and the ability to change your bar height for long touring rides..its worth it..to me.

Ive never actually ridden one of these in stock form.

Oh and if you havent visited Pat's FZ site that is linked in the upper right corner of this forum, you should. In there is a procedure that some people have said they had results with. It involves loosening and retorquing the engine bolts. THis is claimed to reduce vibration. Ive never done it myself but other have.

Yes I visit Pat's site, its very helpful, did the exup maintenance, will sync the carbs this wk end, will install two high power LED running lights to be able to switch off the headlights in day time & probably instal a 35 watt HID later.
I am slowly modding the bike.
