FZ1 Integrated Tail Light
Anyone have an integrated tail light they would recommend (i.e. turn signals and tail light combined)? IF so, please provide website and or supplier name.
Thanks for the suggestions. B |

I bought a Clear Alternatives smoke colored tailight, but they went out of business, and I can see why, because the quality wasn't very good. The LED's on one side quit working after about 2 weeks, I sold it to a member here who sucesfully got it working again.
I integrated my stock tailight by using a trailer converter from the towing section at any auto-parts store, cost about $30. It worked so good, I did the same thing to my GF's Ninja! I'm not sure if there are any aftermarket suppliers still making them for the 1st Gen.

Those are nice if you want to blow $50+ more dollars. Also, the LTD (first picture in your link) is illegal in most states and I'd rather not get ish for it from the cops. That is the one I wanted to get until I found out it was 1, illegal, and 2, way more money.

You could always fabricate your own for less than $50...

FYI...A few of the recommendations have been for Gen II models. I am looking for integrated tail light recommendations for a Gen I. Has anyone tried this integrated tail light? Good or bad feedback?

Not seen much talk of integrated signals for the Gen I here, but they were probably more popular "back in the day"..

I've seen a few online..I haven't liked any I've seen so far. Might fabricate my own if I ever feel that the stock look isent suiting the bike anymore.

I second that, it doesn't seen like it would be too hard to do. But, I would like to try to include some of the features of the aftermarket(the triple flash, etc) ones.

Thats exactly right, my stock taillight functions as my turn/brake/tail, there was a wiring diagram on here somewhere, I'll do the digging for you...

Maybe the one I bought was just a fluke, but the manufacturer went out of business, so if it does crap out on you, you're on your own as far as support. But, if you ask me, I wouldn't spend $55 on one.
