New '06 to me, what's this wire for?

Bought a new-to-me '06 FZ1, and I'm in the process of sorting out the (STUPID) things the previous owner did. At face value, it looked like the only things done to it was a slip on, sliders, fender eliminator, and flush-mount signals. Earlier today I found that the frame-to-engine bolts holding the frame sliders had rattled loose.

Digging into the bike to install Ivan's FCE, I found the wire shown in the photo below. Does anyone know what this was originally for? It's located around the area underneath the front seat. The bike seems to run fine...

Thanks!
