Motorcyclist mag FZ1 hop-up (“MC Project – Ultimate One”)
Although the recent FZ1 hop-up article (“MC Project – Ultimate One”) in this months issue of Motorcyclist magazine is sure to generate plenty of buzz on the forum, let me be one of the first to make a comment:
I don’t understand what the writer says about the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). The writer says the position of the sensor is adjusted by “a step-by-step process right from the dash” (?) What is he talking about ? My service manual says this adjustment is just a measured DC voltage at the TPS connector – unlike the 1st gen FZ, the gauges are not involved at all. Before I contact the magazine or the builder of the bike, Jay Tanner, anyone have any ideas what he’s talking about ?
