Gen 1 FZ1 quit running

I was riding on the highway about to exit and my FZ quit runing. Had gas, lights worked, plenty of battery power. Tried to start it and it just turned over like it wasn't getting fuel. The same thing happend earlier this spring also on the highway. jiggled some wires on both sides of the bike and hope for the best still would not start. (This worked the 1st time) after 1st time checked under the tank and it seemed that a wire to the coil was loose, refitted the wire bike started. This time checked both coils all seemed well. What i can say for sure is i have let the bike set for a couple days. I turn the key on and did not hear the fuel pump prime. (I am no machanic but i have both Clymers and Yamaha manuals.)
I just dont know what to look for and where to start. Also i have noticed that when i try to start the bike, by depressing the starter button it will not do anything untill i press it 2 or 3 times.
Any help or direction would be great.
