Talking Edged-Weapon Heaven !

*NOTICE*
If you're not fond of weaponry, this is NOT the thread for you..

As stated in the thread title, I'm in edged-weapon heaven.
It all started this summer, when forum member and Army Captain Skypilot (and his family) graced our home for dinner. As old warriors often do, the talk turned to weapons, and Dave showed me his Tactical Utility knife. The knife was made by his brother, Steve, who is a custom-maker in the Northwest. I was so impress by the artistry and heftiness of the blade, I ordered one in the similar genre, but with my specifications.

This is Steve's website: http://littlehinduknives.com/index.html
If you ever wanted to 'treat yourself, or perhaps give a gift to an outdoors-minded son or daughter, this is THE MAN to call.

Here is the result.
One hundred forty-four layers of high carbon steels were re-sectioned, welded, twisted, and forged into blade so strong that (as Skypilot says) "you could drive it into a tree, and stand on it". Function, plus the inherent beauty of traditional damascus ........ it doesn't get any better !
OH YES IT DOES ! ...... how about my initials in the blade. Or a sheath acutally made for a left-hander. Or paracord wrapping sized for my large hands.

25 cm Overall Length (that's 10" for you non-scientific dudes). A full 3/16" thick.

That's very cool. I have a folded metal wedding ring and my best chisels are similarly made.

Also, on supporting an actual maker.

Strange comment, dean.
If I put it "in somebody", it would most likely be to save myself from a rampaging bull elk. I've carried many blades on the street (and believe me, had good reasons to do so), but this is my woods knife.

I just meant that it looks like it would speak to me in tongues and instruct me to put in somebody. What's strange about that?

Hey, your only stipulation was "*NOTICE*

Nothing about voices or blood orgies and stuff!

I had a fella stick a knife in me in the late 70s. Was that you Dean?

If so, we need to talk.

In the late '70s, I was 1, max.

The only time I ever stuck a knife in someone was in 2002. And I still say it was his fault.

His bows are phenomenal too. And all of it is very reasonably priced for what appears to be top notch quality.

What does that blade weigh?

When I was in college, I had the famous O'haus Dial-O-Gram scales , but I don't really have any way to weigh it now. I'm guessing a little over a pound. It's surprisingly light for the thickness, and lays very flat against your hip.
