throttle cable routing

Greetings!

I am re-installing my stock bars (on the GYTR risers) and have a question.

My bike has the throttle cables re-routed to the left side. With the S-2 bars, that worked great. With the stock bars, not enough slack. Can anyone refresh my memory on the OEM cable routing path?

I'm 90% certain I have the stock length cables, they are marked 5LV-00 1624. Can anyone confirm this?

Thank you in advance!

Are the S2 bars shorter than stock? You may just have to reroute the cables again. Stock cables with stock bar and GYTR risers should have more than enough slack. Check Bike Bandit or another similar site to check the number for a stock cable. I know there were a set of shorter cables from Yamaha specifically for the GYTR bars and riser (I have them on my bike).

EDIT: Here, I looked it up on Yamaha's site.

Throttle Cable 1: 5LV-26311-00-00
Throttle Cable 2: 5LV-26312-00-00

It's possible you may have the shorter GYTR cables, in which case they will be too short to work with the stock bar and GYTR risers.

Thanks for the response, I was wondering if anyone looked at the gen 1 S&M forum any longer...

I re-routed the cables as close to stock as I could remember. With the GYTR risers (lower-ers?) the cables work fine. I "might" be able to re-install the stock risers with these cables. Not totally sure I want to yet, but I think I could.

These may be indeed the shorter cables as I don't have nearly the amount of excess loopage others report.

Thanks again
