Too much oil in the bike

I changed the oil today and I put in about a 1/2 quart too much oil in the bike. When I put the bike on the center stand the oil window is completely covered with oil. Best way to remove some of the new oil? Is it OK to just run it with 1/2 quart too much oil? Thanks, Mike

Just loosen nut and let some drain until window is half full. It is not good to run it too full!

At some point too much oil is a very bad thing for an engine, I'm not sure how much is too much so I'd play it safe and drain that 1/2 quart out.

Use a straw, make sure you already have a breath mint on hand.

or

Use the drain plug, you'll get an oily hand but it beats oily teeth.

Lol... Sounds good. Thanks for the tip. I will try the plug thing before running it.

If you havent run it yet and did change the filter as well you oil level will be high even if you put in the correct amount. Start it and run it for a good 10 minutes, wait another 10 to check level. If it's high use the drain plug method; don't think you can get anything pst the clutch to suck oil out.

How much oil did you put in the bike, total? Did you change the oil filter, along with the oil?
